Hey everybody, my father is building a new driveway in our front lawn, and he needs to find the measure of the driveway in square feet. I can't figure it out, so I wanted to know if anyone out there could help and, potentially, solve this problem. Thanks in advance.
Trying to solve for square feet.

The exact area is 1032.37 square feet.

I would strongly recommend converting everything to metric units and converting back and the end. You don't want to be doing anything like that with imperial units, ever!

I can approximate this using Calculus, I just need a little more information. What are the lengths from G to C and G to B?

You need the area under ABC? Are you sure this isn't a homework problem?

Edited by Unisaur 64: 3/5/2013 11:07:28 PMI need to know the distance between the perpendicular line you drew and the line on the left that the circle stops on. Your diagram is a bit ambiguous, could you please make a better one ? For example, what shape are you trying to measure exactly (Are you trying to find the area enclosed by the two circles ?) ? What does the 76' mean ?
