Just throwing the popular Floodian view out there.
Oh, and you conservative Christians, by your logic, Jesus was a commie.
-
Last time I checked, Jesus never advocated for the people to rise up and overthrow the ruling class in an armed revolution. Because the Romans would have nailed him to those 2x4s a lot faster if he did.
-
Jesus wasn't an economic symbol. Everything He did was social. He wasn't spreading Communism, He was spreading Responsibility, Integrity, Love, and Choice. Being forced to give money isn't exactly an act of love, but having the heart to give freely, that is what Jesus taught.
-
This is the first thread I saw after reading Orwell's Animal Farm.
-
I would do anything for the motherland.
-
There are tonnes of ways to help people. Which I wouldn't consider Communism. I help others and vice versa, I never consider it communism.
-
I'm a conservative atheist (weird right) and I'm not against helping people, but I do not want my money going to support people who sit on their asses and get high all day. I want it to go to people who truly deserve it
-
ITT: People proving the OP right Communism is not the redistribution of wealth, is a state of absolute wealth, where money no longer makes sense. Also, Socialism isn't taking your money, it gives you the money you deserve for your labor by destroying the class that steals it from you.
-
I don't understand the blind hate for communism...
-
I'm not against helping the poor, I'm against getting my things taken away in the name of the greater good.

Edited by KaoticKaiman: 3/6/2013 1:09:17 AMFrom a conservative Christian: Jesus didn't take from others to give to others. He gave to others out of the goodness of his heart, not from others people's possessions. Silly liberal, your attempt at comparison is laughable.
-
I love how you liberal democrats are just full of so much hate. I find it also how liberals like yourself try to use "Jesus" as a way to justify your thoughts or behavior. I find that actually shameful.
-
Like I said earlier, the Flood isn't primarily Christian/conservative. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite. Secondly, I don't think that conservatives are against helping the genuinely poor. I mean, I'm pretty damn conservative and I believe in a strong welfare system that helps those who have been dealt a shitty hand. But, like anything, government systems have to be regulated. They have to be regulated to make sure that: a) corruption doesn't ensue; b) the system remains fluid and intact.
-
I love to think that Star Trek is not as far-fetched as some people may want to make you believe.
-
Hold up wat
-
We seem to be the most stable and "happy" smack dab in the middle between socialism and capitalism. We keep trying to swing WAY to the right, which always ends in catastrophe. This video describes it better than me. http://www.youtube.com/embed/wJLaRhTKzw8
-
Lol, OP is pro troll
-
Pol Pot was a commie All the people who give to charity are just as bad as Pol Pot [/truth]
-
Helping the poor = humanitarianism
-
Are you retarded?
-
I assume most people here are liberal democrats. I'm not, the only American part of history I found America compelling was the one in the 18-19th century.
-
Wait... do you honestly think that the Flood is primarily Christian and conservative? Lollllllll.
-
uummmmm no, thats so far from the truth
-
The poor are better of now than the poor in past eras.
-
We can blame something in the the 50's for that. I don't think it's a bad philosophy, but it is a bad government policy because of have easy it is to abuse it. Which is why I'm a socialist instead.
-
In Yugoslavia my family was killed. In Australia they were given a free pair of shoes. Capitalism wins
-
Capitalism is just as bad as communism. And the fake democracy that you believe to be true is so transparent, it is no democracy at all. The closest example of a true democracy is in Switzerland.
