So how many of you eat meat?
Uhh I do but only fish and sometimes sausage. I do understand why people don't eat it. Many people I know are vegetarian. So I wonder how many of you guys/girls eat meat?
EDIT: Oh and Bacon/Chicken sometimes.
-
I do.
-
i do, no pig / cow though
-
I eat meat like I breathe my oxygen. Lol just kidding, while I will never quit eating meat, it tastes amazing I don't mind if I go a day or two without it.
-
Love meat.
-
I eat meat although its not too often, I don't like fish nor foul
-
Meat is wonderful. I love having a nice dead cow or chicken at dinner.
-
I was a vegetarian for about a year and a half, but I decided that it's kind of dumb to fight the cravings for meat if I want to eat it. Even so, I don't eat it that often anyways.

I just recently went without meat for a week to try it, mainly because I don't really like meat. I immediately felt so much better and had much more energy (it sounds cliché, I know). When the week was up, I had a hamburger and felt horrible for several days. Needless to say, I don't think I want to eat too much more meat.

Edited by Honorable Sniper: 3/6/2013 3:43:29 PM
I do understand why people don't eat it.
There are a lot of good reasons to not eat meat. Ethical. if you saw this thread Is there a difference between assisted suicide and murder?, I go over killing without consent. Killing without consent is murder. And if consistency and not being a hypocrite is important to you, this should also apply to other Animals, not just humans. Even worse is when the murdering of an animal is not necessary. So lets say you have a can of food, with all the nutrition you need, but instead you feel you would rather eat ham. Then you go outside and end a pigs life so you can eat that instead. Would be different if the killing of an animal were in defense of your life, being attacked or having nothing else to eat to keep you alive. But the truth is, unless you live in the wild, those situations arent going to happen, and you do have access to food which doesnt require the killing or taking advantage of an animal. And as a vegetarian for years there is no nutritional requirement to eat meat, plant based foods can do it all by themselves. And if the argument is that animals are not as smart, so we are free to kill them. Thats not a good argument either cause most animals are fairly intelligent. They have emotions, feel pain, and are as smart as your dog. Though we tend to pretend they dont have minds so its easier to murder them. Though, if it were a mentally handicap people being herded and slaughter, we might not all like that. http://www.habitatforhorses.org/the-horse-meat-scandals-reveal-we-are-more-psychologically-screwed-up-than-we-realized-about-eating-animals/ If you care about the environment then eating less/no meat should be important to you. The process of raising live stock is inherently wasteful, requiring more land, food, and water to produce 1 pound of meat, which could be used to produce many times more plantbased foods. And the amount of excrement produced from having an unnatural number of animals on a plot of land over whelms the local environments ability to get rid of it, poisoning the land, water, and wells, essentially turning areas into giant septic tanks. Being Vegetarian/Vegan is likely the healthiest diet/lifestyle you could choose. Though theres a bit to much to talk about there, so instead it'd be easier to direct to here. Well I just think the meat tastes so good and when thinking about the fact that I am eating an innocent animal that had no say in the matter, it just tastes even more delicious.
