I'm probably going to buy it on launch day, but I'm afraid it's changed too much from the classic Gears formula I loved. What about you, Flood?

Edited by Rex2: 3/2/2013 4:40:52 PMMy impression is that it's more of a cash-in - after all, the tech was already done, and Microsoft needs something to bring to Xbox gamers, otherwise their platform would look utterly dead compared to PS3 (which is now oozing exclusive content). And I don't like many of the changes they've made. Red vs. Blue multiplayer is much less appealing than COG's vs Locust. There seems to be a larger emphasis on "dressing your barbie" (ie: stylish body camos). It's apparently easier to kill your opponents now (justification is to "speed up" gameplay). Story seems to be straddling some weird line between a seroius depiction of e-day and dudebro one-liners and antics (which makes sense I guess considering the developer is the same one that made Bulletstorm: Dicktits). Granted, I am still interested in experiencing the single-player. I'll pick the game up in a month or two for $20-30.
