I'm probably going to buy it on launch day, but I'm afraid it's changed too much from the classic Gears formula I loved. What about you, Flood?

Edited by IFallen Sith: 3/3/2013 9:39:09 PMStill thinking about it. I still have yet to get to the many articles and videos about it, so once I do, then I may have a decision.
-
No, I got kinda bored of Gears of War after 3.
-
1.Gears 3 was shit and Judgement looks to be even worse 2. It stars that faggot Baird. He's the worst character in the Gears franchise yet the shitters at Epic and whatever that third rate developer is called decided to give him the lead.
-
Nah, Baird is an asshat and Cole is -blam!-ing retarded, plus I already know how the Gears series ends so it won't have anything new or exciting to offer unless they decide to retcon the shit out of it, also the multiplayer has gone through the retardization process that all unique games go through once they have ran out of ideas. Overrun looks interesting though. But seriously PCF, if you get the season pass you get double xp for life? lolwut

Edited by DragonzZilla: 3/3/2013 6:00:31 PMOn the bench about it. Don't have money and worried how long people are going to say on it.
-
No, I've never really played Gears of War. The only thing that's ever gotten me slightly interested was when they introduced horde mode, but I never ended up buying it.
-
Nah, I don't own an Xbox.
-
Yes, but I haven't been following it much. I just enjoy the franchise's gameplay and the story had me invested after playing the first game.
-
I think I'll pass. They just took it and rammed it into the ground. No downing and executions in most modes. No Cog vs Locust its just Blue COG vs Red COG. How this is mainly a cash grab. Pay to win season pass you get permanent double exp if you buy it. Shorter campaign in favor of multiplayer.
-
I was on the GOW hype train, but after watching the vidocs on them I am gonna cancel my pre order. I primarily play Gears for their campaigns and this one seems like it might not live up to the hype.
-
Day one buy. I'm going to roll Retro/Sawed Off and just troll all the Gnasher kids.
-
Are you a girl?

Edited by Rex2: 3/2/2013 4:40:52 PMMy impression is that it's more of a cash-in - after all, the tech was already done, and Microsoft needs something to bring to Xbox gamers, otherwise their platform would look utterly dead compared to PS3 (which is now oozing exclusive content). And I don't like many of the changes they've made. Red vs. Blue multiplayer is much less appealing than COG's vs Locust. There seems to be a larger emphasis on "dressing your barbie" (ie: stylish body camos). It's apparently easier to kill your opponents now (justification is to "speed up" gameplay). Story seems to be straddling some weird line between a seroius depiction of e-day and dudebro one-liners and antics (which makes sense I guess considering the developer is the same one that made Bulletstorm: Dicktits). Granted, I am still interested in experiencing the single-player. I'll pick the game up in a month or two for $20-30.

I have 65 bucks and I'm debating on whether to buy GoWJ or Defiance. Considering Defiance is an MMO and I have an xbox and have never played an MMO, I'm probably going to buy Defiance.
-
Co-op is always top notch in Gears, so yes.
-
should have ended with the third , but it just depends on how the reviews are.
-
Still haven't played Gears of War one...
-
Yea, co-op is too good. I love co-op games. So, bought.
-
Gears of War ended with Gears of War 3.
-
-
Nope, still have never played Gears of War 3.
-
Maybe when the price drops and it goes on special. It's not a launch day purchase for me though, they've changed the gears formula far too much. It looks interesting, thats for sure, but i'm not 100% sure i'll like it just yet.
-
I may in about 3-4 months when the price has dropped to about 30 dollars because of how horrid it will be.
-
Is it on PC
-
One day I'll buy it, but it wont be anywhere near the launch day.
-
Not a chance. The series ended for me, but more importantly? ... ... ... I HATE Baird. Baird needed to die in a fire. Horribly. I was SO disappointed in GoW2 when his Raven appeared to be shot down... AND WE FOUND OUT HE WAS IN THE OTHER ONE. PISSED. So a game focused on Baird? Hell no! Hate Baird. *pouts*
