I mean it's a good anime. People just hate it. It's number 1 at the moment. It has a great storyline (besides sasuke chasing. Which Kishi has fixed now and got over it) and has great fights! I admit other animes are better than this one but MOST of you act like it's complete shit! Besides the Fillers it's awesome!
Edit: I like other less popular but still popular animes better than Naruto. Don't Worry!
It is good but it's still not my favourite anime. It has a lot of flashbacks and filler but at the very least most of the filler is better placed than Bleach's filler. Also, no anime should need about 3 flashbacks per episode on average.
This is what I think^!...Yes I agree it is poorly written but lots of people act like it's complete shit!

I am not the target audience

While I enjoy it, the problem lies with the dumb flashbacks thrown in the middle of every episode and then fillers. It is why I prefer the manga, which is actually getting really interesting.

Where to start? Oh. Right here. Also, this:
Naruto is a gateway anime of the worst kind. It's a bad series, a cluster-blam!- of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive shipping -blam!-ry and DARKNESS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the series itself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad. However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of its core make it a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable underageb& -blam!- who engage in every kind of -blam!-ry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look cool, the jutsus, peculiar, colorful clothes, the whole ninja -blam!-ry and everything about the Naruto world fuels their escapist fantasies, while the pity-party character backgrounds, emphasis on revenge, and overall preachiness of the series make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average preteen and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes little kiddies and underageb& retards eat this shit right the -blam!- up.
I loved it when I was in middle school, but then I went away on vacation for a month, and when I came back I suddenly realized how much it sucked and never watched it again.
-
It's not a good or bad anime, it's just that the huugee amount of fillers just ruin it. (weren't there like over 20 fillers in a row in shipuden?)
-
"Oh shit, we've killed off all the cool Ninja Bad guys." ... "What if we brought them all back to life with an unbelievably broken Jutsu that makes little sense?" ... "BEST IDEA EVER!"
-
Believe it! <--- That's why. Still like it better than One Piece. Never could get into that one. Atleast Shippuden fixed alot of things that were wrong with the original.
-
I used to think it was really good, but once you start watching more anime, you realize how mediocre Naruto is compared to a lot of other series.
-
Way too drawn out and way too much filler added. The print version has a much nicer pace and gives much more background information. The same is true for all anime's need to fill up seasons so they can slug in their advertisements snugly every 14 minutes
-
It's number one? lolno. It's #2. We might not have anime viewer statistics for last year, but we do know that One Piece has sold more than Naruto, Bleach, and the next four mangas combined. Anyways, I enjoy it. But I have to admit it is horribly written. He just keeps adding on plots to continue the story. Here's the premise of the series: Become recognized. Become Hokage. Stop a group from destroying the village. Stop guy from destroying village. Save your friend. Save your friend. Save your friend. Save your friend. 100 episodes of save your friend filler (no -blam!-ing joke- it's around 100 episodes of filler in a row before Shippuden is started. That's ridiculous). Save a different friend. Save yourself. Save the village. Save the world. Save the world. Save the village. Save the world. Save the world. Save the world with ridiculous reasons as to why it is in danger. Add in a few hundred fillers and a billion 'plot twists' as to motivations and identities? It's just really poorly written. I enjoy it, but I admit it's not quality.
It's number 1 at the moment.
I'm almost sure it isn't.

Naruto is a terrible anime I prefer One Piece much more

Edited by Elegiac: 3/1/2013 5:53:56 PMIt's shit. The above image is taken from a good fantasy anime/manga.

Probably the worst out of the big 3, has tons of fillers that are all shit, goes on forever with very little "good moments," and has tons of plot problems. Then you have the issue that there are tons of far better anime shows out there that really it isn't worth the time. Hell and that is just Shippuden don't even get me started on Naruto post episode 100.

Never watched more than a few episodes. I found what I watched to be really drawn out, the fights were just silly looking because they tried too hard to look cool, and the series took itself way too seriously to the point of being melodramatic.

It appeals to the lowest common denominator.
