So over the past couple of days, a whole bunch of people at my school have caught gastroenteritis and have been sick. A few of them have had to go to the emergency room. There were a lot of empty desks in the classrooms yesterday and today.
So have any bad illnesses happened to a lot of people at your school at once? How did the school deal with it?

Not school, but i've had a home epidemic. Same virus.

You ever see what they did to the house in ET? Something like that.

Madagascar's face when.

There was like 5 people who caught TB at my high school one year.

Nothing really affected too many people at my school ever.

Swine flu went around my school a bit in 2009(?). No one got all that sick, though.

Yeah that goes around every year at my old High School, thank god i never caught it.

Sounds delicious. I can't recall there ever being more than a couple of people sick from the same illness at the same time. Schools up here are really concerned about cleanliness and sanitation and all that.

i had the flu when i was a kid, and i guess i mustve swallowed too much mucus, i got stomach flu shortly after. Worst 4 days of my life. It was just constant vomiting and diarrhea for 4 days straight.

Bunch of us got chickenpox at the same time when I was in primary school. This was before the vaccine had been invented. I got a nasty bout of gastro over the Christmas holidays, had to go to the emergency department. Not fun.

Zombie apocalypse, calling it now.

There's a herpes epidemic at my school, but that's about it.

Most cases of gastroenteritis that are among Primary, and Secondary educational crowds are viral. Viral gastroenteritis usually subsides within 3-5 days of first showing symptoms. Did they tell you it was norovirus or rotavirus?
