Help increase my vocabulary
Post a word you think most people wouldn't know, an interesting word. Something you wouldn't use in conventional speaking. And then type the definition that corresponds with the word. Type the part of speech too if you want.
A word I like is "compartmentalize" which means to put into categories.

Enfilade- A formation or position is "in enfilade" if weapons fire can be directed along its longest axis. Defilade- A unit or position is "in defilade" if it uses natural or artificial obstacles to shield or conceal. For an armored fighting vehicle (AFV), defilade is synonymous with a hull-down or turret-down position. Both words are very useful in military simulators, and who knows when you might need them when talking to someone!
