This would be my dream Halo 5:
The return of Ranked and Social playlists. Ranked would be like the Halo we remember, but evolved. People have sprint, armour abilities spawn on map like H3's equipment, everyone spawns with BR, static weapon spawns, and no ordnance. In game 1-50 would return in Ranked playlists.
Social playlists would be similar, but you would spawn with your choice of loadout. They wouldn't be fully customizable, though. I was thinking of a Battlefield like system (I think that's the game) where everyone has the abilities/guns unlocked at the start, and everyone can pick your gun and AA at the start of a match. The catch is that you can't change AA or gun in the middle of the game. You're stuck with the one you picked at the start.
Social would have a new PO system as well. Everyone always gets the options between Health boost, Damage boost, and Speed boost. They'd all be significantly nerfed from the Halo 4 version, though. For example, maybe Health boost would give you 10% more health (not shields) or damage boost causes people to die in one less BR bullet (not burst) and Speed boost lets you move 5% faster. You'd only get PO for getting a real Killing Spree, not a point spree like it is now.
General changes: return of descope, static weapon spawns on all maps, no JIP, no killcam, maps MUST be built without Sprint so they're not stretched out, return of Forge World and classic gametypes, custom games fixed, better maps, no instant respawn, sprinting isn't as drastic (maybe like 50-75% of the speed of Halo 4), vehicles stronger, less bullet magnetism.
I think this list would appease both the community that left (the pre-Reach community) and the remaining community that enjoyed Halo Reach and Halo 4.
So what are your thoughts on this? Do you like these ideas? Do you think 343i will do this?
Thanks for reading.
And before anyone says "lolgobacktowaypoint" I posted this there. I wanted to see your reaction since IMO 343i should target the people that loved past Halos instead of CoD fans for Halo 5

Edited by ZealotSG: 2/28/2013 1:11:25 PMThanks for this opportunity op. Halo 5 Campaign wishlist: -checkpoint menu (includes revert to second last checkpoint, separate save and quit, checkpoint management a la Halo PC) -turn on/off skulls without restarting level -HUD customization -large FoV -flashlight -CE/H2 style grenade chain reactions Halo Campaign flaws: -graphics priority (frequent deloading, pop-in, poor rendering distance) -dumb AI (especially allies) -checkpoint system (either too abundant or not sufficient. Repeating checkpoints solved this problem, which are absolutely missing in Halo 4 compared to Reach, H3, and CE) -false difficulty (high damage, bullet sponge, grenade spam, power weapon/max enemy rank abuse) -vehicles (they just feel like shit) -intrusive game (game killing off enemies, game teleporting allies, game teleporting player, game tarnishing believable situations) -excess invisible barriers/soft kill zones (prominent fun killer) -collateral damage (this would go under intrusive game but I think it deserves it's own topic) -boss battles (never been done well but the recent attempts are very demeaning. One plays itself, one is a QTE) -lack of difficulty scaling/differences (like boss battles, there has been a noticeable increase in degrading the player. The QTEs in Halo 4 are laughable due to how they play out the same on any difficulty not to mention the obvious prompts. And of course, with Blind on, they can be an infuriating way to fail a mission. Compare CE's first mission (you weren't forced to go through the tests and you skipped right to the cutscene, the Elite in the dark room wasn't there, and you weren't forced to take the path in which you had to melee a door open) to Dawn (you have to open the cryotube, pry open the door, and kill that Elite every freaking time).

Regarding general changes, I just want options, everything optional (even the HUD elements).

OP you contradicted yourself in paragraph 2. You said you wanted a system like Battlefield 3 where you can pick your gun and AA at the start but you can't change it. Battlefield lets you change it while you're in game.

My dream Halo 5 would be an interesting game with visible 1-50, no DMR allowed in SWAT and two sniper rifles for Team Snipers, and maybe an Arena ONLY for precision weapons playlists so newbies don't get discouraged when trying to play Snipers or SWAT against us decent folks.... Oh, and then there's that whole thing about having a studio that makes games it wants to play making Halo 5 instead of a bunch of folks just throwing something together with their subcontractors just to score $1 billion for Steve Ballmer in his quest to steal the Sacramento Kings from Sacramento...
