Sorry in advance for finding a Russian-based article, but basically the US used its power as a G5 nation in the United Nations Security Council to strike down a vote to condemn a suicide bombing against the Syrian government (that also happened to hit the Russian embassy and a school).
The criticism was that the ultra-conservative Obama administration used double standards against the Syrian government instead of unconditional condemnation of all terrorist attacks.
I also would like to say that relations between the US and Russia are rapidly deteriorating.

It seems that the only reason that the US vetoed the resolution is that it also wanted it to include a condemnation of Assad, not because it condones the terrorist attack.
