So I've been trying to adapt to this new hashtag system, and it's really starting to annoy me. Whenever someone makes a hashtag, that version becomes the standard. For example, I often post history-related news stories, so I use the tag #history. Unfortunately, the first person to use that tag used it for a thread about the History Channel, so the tag always comes up as #History, despite my efforts to keep it lowercase. Just a few minutes ago I posted a thread in a private group using the tag #legacy, but someone had already used that spelling previously with the tag #leGaCy. I'm now stuck using that retarded capitalisation if I ever use that tag.
I know enough about programming that in some cases capitalisation will be disregarded. I'm guessing that's causing this bug, but I have no idea if it's fixable with the way Bungie programmed their new site. A fix or at least explanation of why it can't be fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you not want the first letter capitalized?
