Based on Deej's post in ken's thread
DeeJ: We have some ideas for how you can distinguish yourselves in this new order. They need time to bake.
For the time being, I would conduct yourselves in a manner that entices people to follow you. That's how I decide who is the best right now. I look at who is making contributions that are valuable to the most people.
The old title system was based on posting a lot and not getting banned. It was a good system for its day. Now, instead of trying to curry favor with the Ninjas, you have to appeal to each other. The new Elitists will be the ones that make other people happy.
I am wondering exactly what factors will help define our new titles. It appears things are not set in stone so let's give Bungie something to study before they are
Assuming there would be tiers as in the old system
Tier 1 - Best
Tier X - "Farthest From Best"
How are tiers being defined
My guess
Popularity - number of followers will be a contributing factor - as hinted by Deej

Account Age - I would just assuming bungie would not completely abandon this

Activity - Again I would just assume bungie would not completely abandon this

Behavior - Number of mutes or bans may negativly impact your title

My question to the community is what would you like to see change? Should each "catagory" hold equal value in determing new titles? Should some catagories be abandoned all together?
TL;DR - please provide feedback on title system expectations as DeeJ suggests the plans are not finalized merely "baking"

You're providing feedback on a system that doesn't exist and has yet to be revealed? While you're at it, design a time machine. If you read my comments again, you'll see that I gave you something you can do for the time being. You need to read all the words - not just the one's that excite you.

Assuming any sort of status indicator that we may or may not eventually receive could be decided by the amount of followers we have, an influx of alternate accounts would be basically guaranteed as users attempted to manipulate their ranks. If it weren't for that, however, I could see the follower count being a good sub-basis for member ranks. If I were to be granted the privilege of deciding the formula by which the "title system" operates, I would start by not disclosing that information to the public in order to prevent users from abusing the system. After that, I'd probably just use the same formula that the previous rendition of bungie.net used, slightly tweaked perhaps, and also incorporating newer features such as amount of likes/followers. As I stated earlier however, such determinants would have much less effect on the rank of the user than default determinants such as activity and behavior seeing as how easily abuse-able they are. If member ranks were titles, just as they were on bungie.old, likes and followers would only justify a prefix. While I'm on the topic of how the old system operated, I would like it if ranks could be chosen by the user that the rank is assigned to. Obviously, the user would have to earn the rank first, but once it has been granted to the user, that user can decide which specific rank he or she wants displayed, if he or she wants their rank to be displayed at all.

I'm thinking there will be no titles, just a prefix with some badges/stickers.

I don't think you will be limited to a single title choice. I think based on your "status" you will be able to customize a little bit. I would add the thought of including not only forum activity - but new universe activity as well. I really think they're going to tie everything together and link as much as they can where they can. For example - player level or player wealth might change your title options.
