Would you be able to not flinch if someone was about to throw a basketball in your face? Would you be able to 'know' there's nothing to worry about?
Can people get inside your head with a little face to face trash talk? Is criticism tough to take?
Do you take advantage of it if you are mentally tough? If you aren't, do you think other people take advantage of it in you?
I should clarify. Mentally tough doesn't mean "I have no emotions", it means you're confident in yourself and your abilities, despite the circumstances. It also does not mean arrogance.
What do you think floodies?

i grew up in the -blam!-ing hood, i was like the black -blam!-ing ninja. so i had to be tough.
-
I take insults and trash talk well. Give me a sad story and watch the river of tears.
-
I don't think that has much to do with being mentally tough. Ballsy more like it. But yeah, I've killed a few times. Still not affected.
-
I would say Im mentally tough.
How tough am I? How tough am I!?
I have my highs and lows.

As a formal travel hockey player I would say so

I usually wait three seconds before scratching an itch.

I'm so mentally tough, when someone makes fun of me I physically beat their ass.
-
I'd say I can take demoralizing comments quite well. I have a mean boss and I don't let him get to me, I usually just laugh about it later on.
-
I'm so mentally tough, I can eat emotional nails. Without any angst. Not even sure if that makes sense. But in all truth I don't have to deal with that stuff. Or at least, I'm too sleep deprived to the point of not noticing or caring. Pretty useful I suppose. But then again it also makes me look generally emotionally cold, which in reality I'm not when I'm in better social circumstances. It's pretty strange how far off either side of me is, during any sort of work in or out of classes I turn off and focus on what I'm supposed to do, in public places or when with friends I become a fully "Happy go lucky" character which is indifferent to the existence of dignity or a moral compus.
-
It really depends on many things; first off like many people said it's hard to quantify on its own. In addition other factors play in; if I was harshly criticized by a colleague or somebody I hardly know I can easily brush it off. If it is somebody I hold in high esteem? I think that would be much harder for most people.

I suppose "mentally tough" would be subjective. Something I wouldn't put on some scale.
-
I'm pretty friggen tough, takes alot to make me mentally or physically 'flinch'
-
Not at all.

To be honest, I would have probably flinched there lol. But yeah when it comes to sports im incredibly mentally tough. I love to have the game on the line and have the opportunity to step up to the plate or lead that 2 min drive in a hurry up. Very, Very confident. You have to be.
-
I flinch whenever someone points at me. :P
-
I am the most flinch-y person ever.
-
I am half and half. While training as a young lad, I had to improve my reaction timing in combat. Yes I am a bit nervous while fighting, but usually the bravest ones die first.

I had a bowl of mental nails... Without any mental milk
