There have been several interesting takes on a talent tree or skill progression in gaming over the last few years.

Dear god, if this is an advancement of a Call of Duty theme, let me off at the next stop. I was hoping for customization in skill-set, weaponry, gear.... Stuff that grows with you as you move through the game. If we are going to go the next ten years attaching red dot sights and under barrel shotguns/ grenade launchers I will feel very let down by this game. I actually like Rob's idea that you level skills as you use them similar to Skyrim, a system that rewards sticking to your original build plan, but doesn't make it where you can not at least try new things.
