Just watch this video...if you're a PC gamer and have built your own PC, you will understand why I am appalled by this video.

Edited by Fat Tony: 3/7/2013 9:17:08 AMBrowsing the forums and coming across this.... Thank you for showing me how not to build a PC, OP. Also, doesn't Windows 7 Home Premium not support more than 16 GB of memory including that on the graphics card? So there is no point in the amount of RAM they've decided to go with?

I find it funny how the people in this thread think they know more about computers than these guys, when they have the exact same knowledge as these guys, if not worse. And they're trying to say they don't know anything when they're doing is listing cheaper parts like it takes some high intelligence to do a Google search.

Graphics in Crysis 3. Yeah, like it's not going to just be a shitty console port with grey filters over everything like Crysis 2. If you want a good looking Crysis game, just buy Crysis 1 and Warhead.

Edited by Daniel Fortesque: 2/20/2013 1:59:25 AMAm I doing it right?

YOU DON'T APPLY THERMAL PASTE LIKE THAT
-
I unsubscribed from them 3 years ago, i recommend you do the same
-
I don't really care for them.
-
Why does everyone have to hate on IGN? -blam!- you all. BTW is there a swear-filter still, because I automatically type -blam!-.
-
Building a PC is a waste of time regardless.

Edited by Gr33n: 2/19/2013 5:14:02 AMHA, I was wondering why these parts all looked very familiar. I had someone bring in this exact computer a few weeks ago. The power supply, motherboard, and sound card all went bad. EDIT: Wow, just saw that the video was posted yesterday... That was the exact CPU, Motherboard, Heatsink, and Graphics card that the guy had though. He also knew nothing at all about how the computer worked or how to install/replace parts. Maybe that's why he and IGN picked the same parts.
-
They have always been stupid. They get paid to give good reviews etc, dont trust or listen to a word they say.
-
Im not going to watch the video because I have come to learn that IGN are nothing but brain-dead idiots, but from the comments, I understand that this is a how to build your own PC... pathetic...
-
*pulls out motherboard* *throws out box* *puts MB on anti-static bag* *facepalm*
-
$250 MoBo? 16 GB of ram? Overpriced aftermarket cooler that doesn't preform as well as the $29 evo? I do kind of understand the I7 since Crysis 3 beta was bringing my I5 to 80-90% load but still unnecessary. Not watching anymore this video is crap.

Spread the haterade all you want, but Dan Stapleton is the man. One of my favourite editors for PCGamer Mag back when it was in its prime.

OP can you voice your frustrations in a vlog with you screaming the entire time. Then upload to youtube and forward that video to IGN that would be pretty entertaining. It would take awhile for you to edit it to match the video but it would be very entertaining anyway. Take my suggestion thanks

Edited by TopWargamer: 2/18/2013 8:10:12 AM1) For $1450, he could have gotten something so much better. 2) He knows absolutely nothing about computers. You need have at least a general knowledge of a computer to build one, and he clearly did not. 3) 00:59 - 01:04 (editing fail...it's suppose to LGA 2011) 4) 02:24 - 02:27 (He placed the motherboard on the anti-static bag. BAD BAD BAD....you're suppose to put it on the box he threw to the side. Putting the motherboard on the anti-static bag has the potential to short out the motherboard because the outside part absorbs static electricity.) 5) 03:19 - 03:27 (full blown retard CPU placement) 6) 04:28 - 04:50 (full blown retard RAM placement) 7) 07:31 - 07:42 (this one is 2 parted...1. too much thermal paste applied 2. you're NOT suppose to apply it directly to the heatsink. You're suppose to apply it to the CPU directly) 8) 07:46 - 08:20 (Never spread the paste using anything) For 7 and 8, watch this video. 9) 11:18 - 11:24 (he tied the cable behind the heatsink...bad. That has potential to ruin the cables because of the heat and those cables block airflow to the heatsink) 10) 12:01 - 15:37 (full blown retard motherboard and power supply placement) 11) 16:01 - 16:27 (HERPADERPAHUEHUEHUE) 12) 19:00 - 23:53 (that is the worse cable management that I have ever seen. All of those cables block airflow, making your computer run hotter) 13) 24:00 - 24:33 (full blown retard video card + PCIe knowledge...you're suppose to plug your video card into the top PCIe anyways, because it gives you more bandwidth) There, there's all of the reason why this video is bad. Told ya it was a long list. EDIT: This $1450 build lacks an SSD. my $1200 computer even has an SSD.

I could've spent that thirty minutes watching porn. Thanks, OP.
-
I stopped watching at the thermal paste. Holy. Shit.
-
Crysis is such an awful game.
-
That credit card thermal paste. Oh god.
-
IGN > You
-
All the good editors left years ago. Their headlines are only meant to generate clicks. They promote their own wikis too much. IGN sucks. Hell, I like Kotaku more than IGN
-
It hurts....Turn it off, TURN IT OFF!

Edited by Arbiter 739: 2/18/2013 11:11:27 AMOh dear god. After a while of watching this video... I... It hurt my soul. Thanks TopWargamer, for the summary.

This hurt to watch.
