The new website is great, but the forums though...

Just don't feel the same. I understand the direction they are going in, and yeah it's totally necessary for the new platform they are launching with Destiny - but the old forums were perfect. Everything from the flood, the ranks, the people. The closest thing I can explain these forums as are an intense twitter, but way less personal (which is funny because it seems like that the the opposite of what they are going for). Anyone else with me? Edit: I do like it, overall. I trust that Bungie knows what's best! This isn't as much of a complaint as it's just a calling for people in the same boat as me who haven't been around for a while.

  • Just like you at first I didn't really like it but once I learned how to navigate I started liking it more and more. I'd like a couple more changes but for the most part I like it.

  • The forums are still godawful, though they're noticeably better than when they were launched.

    • This is just the topic I was looking for. I was so excited to run into these forums and relive my Halo 3 era forum-ing. I did not expect a rework like this. Are they trying to make the website more available to mobile users? I'm seeing hashtags everywhere. I'm lost. This new design will sink in eventually, but I miss the old set up.

      • It grows on you - just takes some time. If you haven't, go to the dark theme. It's sooooo much better.

I agree with you. I've been browsing the Bungie forums on and off since they updated them and I just can't get used to it. It's much harder to follow along conversations and everything is very non-forumish. During the ARG, I kept looking on B.net for updates but I couldn't find any. I think the current forum design discourages discussions and that's what's pushing people away. It could be nostalgia, but I was completely open and ready for the B.net forum changes. I thought they were great at first, but over time I have come to the realization that I just don't like the new layout. (even if I disagree with the topics on that front page)

          • I have to agree with you, but then again this is my first time back after quite the hiatus as well. It seems a bit overwhelming and harder to navigate . . .

          • May I ask you a question? Is this your first time coming back after a few years?

the forum is nothing like twitter. But if you mean that sidebar, then that is somewhat twitter-ish.
