People are hyping it up so much, when the plot is just as cliche as it gets. "Post-apocalyptic world with deadly aliens that inhabit it?" God, it's like Bungie stole every 90's disaster movie ever.
And the character designs are just recycled from Halo 3 and Oni. I think it's plain to everyone that Bungie has lost its magic.

This game ended being garbage. Time to laugh at every retard that thought this game was gonna be great.

How did you know?

Edited by Ler: 2/17/2013 11:48:16 PMDestiny is not just about a dead Earth. You have your own ship which is fully customizable & will be able to go any planet in our solar system. They were just telling earths story book & the starting point. You will be able to do other planets story book, earth is just main planet because of the traveller. Also it has time travelling robots. You have a horrible way of thinking fggt.

First, I don't recall that many "Post Apocaliptic world with deadly aliens that inhabit it" disaster movies in the '90s. Super viruses and World War III movies, yes. But I'm not a very big movie goer. Second, the character designes look nothing like they did in Halo 3. Not sure about ONI, all I recall was a hot anime chick and then there was Halo. Thirdly, you can speak for youself. I think Bungie is going to set the bar for almost every FPS game to come. Just like they did with Halo.

Edited by SaintEpic: 12/8/2013 5:58:08 AMI'm just going to address each of your statements and break it down. 1. 'People are hyping it up so much, when the plot is just as cliché as it gets.' Albeit it's a little cliché, but you have to remember two things; 1. Nothing in today's world is original. Everything can be related to one another. 2. Bungie makes sci-fis, post-apocalypse or not. Marathon, Halo; They were all sci-fi. It's what they do, and they do it good. 2.'God, it's like Bungie stole every 90's disaster movie ever made.' *I added made to the end, since that sentence didn't make sense otherwise. Please name a few 90's disaster movies that have a similar plot. 3. 'And the character designs are just recycled from Halo 3 and Oni.' From what I've researched, they may be using certain concepts (i.e, algorythms) from the Reach Engine, but that they're making an entire new engine for Destiny. 3. You claim that you have facts that it's going to suck, but you haven't even watched the ViDocs. If you haven't watched any of the ViDocs, then how can you say they're recycled designs? If you have a source that states otherwise, then please share. Cheers. *Yes, I am aware that what I have said has been said in the comments.

Derp derp derpy-derpy doop.

When you oversimplify a plot, then yes, everything seems like its highly derivative of something else. No story is wholly original, none, it's one of the cardinal rules of Literature (and plot in general). While I know you're just a troll, please stop being such a closed-minded ignoramus.

Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion, man.

Another sci fi fps. Whoop dee doo

Even when someone disagrees with the direction of a game, the community takes it in a completely suttle and mature way. If this was COD, 12 year olds would be breaking their keyboards over a diss on MW3 or something similar. Bungie Community=1 World=0

Edited by Dylan: 2/17/2013 11:46:57 PMI can't agree. The music still has a lot to prove, but some of the concept art is extremely compelling. It's really just down to if Bungie can translate that into the game itself. I also don't think this is a traditional post-apocolyptic scenario. I'm not familiar with too many post-apocoliptic stories in which A) the story starts with humanity's resurgence and B) the apocalyptic event happened so deep in the future that humanity has to regain lost planets. And even if it was totally stereotypical, there is so much you can do within that pretense that I don't think it would really matter all that much given the rest of the narrative was well written.

The plot you are referring to is a general plot structure. It's like an Archetype. It's been used a lot, and will continue to be used, but that is okay. The actual plot, plot twist, characters, setting, dialogue and story are what matter.
