Seriously all this hype will turn into "OMG Bungie sucks" or people like Spartain ken will be kissing Bungie's backside.
I enjoyed Halo Reach and Halo 4 because I had no high expectations, I looked forward to those games and was rewarded with a fun experience. Everybody who says they hate Reach and Halo 4 say they got hyped and then let down.
So lets have a guess for how long it will take after Destinies release for people to start hating, im going to say Day 1.

Edited by Saleem: 2/18/2013 1:52:44 AMThe only games I've played and had strong grievances towards have been Brink and Lostplanet 2. As for Bungie games I'm sure they will follow through. I didn't think Reach was all that bad. I'm very excited for Destiny.
-
Shut up, and I thought the reveal was meh, needed more gameplay.
-
All I can say I've never liked open world games.
-
The day people get their hands on it.
-
I'm sure PC gamers already hate it (or Bungie, more specifically Jason thanks to his comment) for good reason.
-
The stench is already starting to leak out.
-
I give it a week. I'm sure the game will be excellent, but many people are banking on it playing very similarly to the older Halo games, and many others have just let themselves get too hyped up.

Edited by IVI1CR0S0F7: 2/18/2013 12:40:24 AMEdit: So, I hsppened to fall asleep sometime on Saturday or Sunday and was too disoriented to realise that Destiny was revealed. I am keeping the rest of my post up. I honestly don't understand how people can be even slightly hyped about Destiny. I find it to be stupid. The hype, not the game. I can't find the game to be stupid. Why? Because we know next to -blam!-ing nothing about this game. It hasn't even been officially revealed yet and people are pre-ordering. I can't believe they have that much faith. Mind you, I'm sure Destiny will be great, but I am not hyped even slightly hyped yet. I would also like to add that I was hyped for Halo 4 and Reach and my expectations were exceded. Except Halo 4 Flood and Forge. I expected forge to be bad. If only was right.

I agree with those who state that there are likely already people who hate it. "OMG THIS IS SO UNREALISTIC NOT LIKE COD" For me personally, unless someone can rationally set out a list of design decisions which they disagree with about a work, then I consider their opinion undeveloped and infantile at that stage, so I don't really pay attention or care about it. As it's said, "Cynicism is far too easy to be useful" so, likewise, is mindless criticism. Bungie isn't taking shots in the dark here, they're a collection of casual, but very seriously trained professionals, so even if the game is a complete antithesis to every one of my desires in a game, I will still have a very strong appreciation for whatever it is about that game which makes it aggravate me, because it would be so perfect and consistent in it's execution. Games are like art. Some people just can't see, in their minds, the practiced motions behind the brush strokes.

they have started.
-
I loved Halo 4 even with getting hyped.
-
Have you seen Harlow's latest Hitler video?
-
Five maybe ten minutes after its released.
-
How can people make so many judgements when we've seen about 30 seconds worth of gameplay which is still in early stages of development. Give Bungie a break.
-
T minus 5...4...
-
Destiny is a new IP so it won't be judged like the sequels to Halo games. Also, if you think Halo 2 and 3 didn't get as much hate as Reach and 4 then you are delusional.
-
I haven't seen this much over hype since Reach. I'll give it 6 hours.
-
2 days after release.
-
I have no expectations for this game. I take what is confirmed in mind, but I never truly judge a game till I play it. What I have seen though. I am buying it, but I will not judge it till it is in my hands.
-
Seems like it's already started to me.
-
2 weeks after release. It will receive so much hate.
-
Everybody who says they hate Reach and Halo 4 say they got hyped and then let down.
You heard it folks, we should continually lower our standards until we are satisfied!
-
Give it a few days after release.
-
I don't know. What time is it now?
-
I'm positive there are people who already hate it. I'm more interested in the faction wars that are going to take place.
-
There are people who already wish for it to fail. Hate starts just as soon as excitement.
