Those videos are crazy as hell. Fortunately, nobody has so far been confirmed injured or killed.
EDIT: It appears reports have been revised, and now the number of injured is estimated in the 'hundreds.'

Current reports now seem to indicate that the main object itself broke up in the lower atmosphere prior to impact, but smaller pieces did in fact impact, though not in populated areas. The reported injuries caused by this event, now estimated in the thousands, seem to be almost all as a result of the low-altitude sonic boom caused by the object's movement through the atmosphere over Chelyabinsk, which shattered most of the windows in the town.

I've seen youtube clips of that asteroid. Imagine the destruction if it made impact

What are the chances somebody would just be filming the sky for no reason as it happened?

I'm really enjoying the mixed reporting here: http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/15/world/europe/russia-meteor-shower/index.html
The asteroid, which is not connected to the Russian meteor, is not expected to hit any of the communications satellites it will pass on its trajectory, he said.
http://english.ruvr.ru/2013_02_15/Urals-meteorite-no-radiation-around-impact-crater/
Astronomers at the Pulkovo Observatory outside St Petersburg say they believe the meteorite that crashed into the South Urals this morning was linked to the approach of the 2012DA14 asteroid, which is to make a close shave with the Earth at a distance of just 27,000 kilometers tonight.
God damn, I can't imagine how it must of been like for those people on the ground.
-
Man, I'd be shitting myself if I saw something like that. Was it like the Tunguska event where the meteor blew up before impact?
