Possible meaning of day 3
It seems that the new image tells us that Earth has been tidally locked to the sun by the aliens for a very long time. So much so, that we don't remember the old Earth or its past inhabitants. All we remember is our lives and out resources being stolen. The characters of Destiny may be trying to solve the mystery of our near extinction to the best of their abilities. But too many questions pop up. Like how modern archeologists try to find the clues of past life.

Mercury. crater-filled and almost tidal locked (3 rotations for every 2 passes around the sun) prior one was mars. Moon was the first. Day 4 will be jupiter. (It's all in the geomancy symbols)

Either most of the game is taking place underground, or Bungie will be employing some very magical technology in their setting in order for life to exist in the twilight, and are pushing plausibility to the absolute envelope. Then again, for all their posturing, most gamers and pop-SF "geeks" cannot into science, and would think this is really kewl, so your theory's probably K.

I think it's the moon. Dark (bitter chill), light (blistered), possibly was a chunk of Earth (remember hot oceans).

5 RepliesI think it's about Mercury. If u consider the Geomancy symbol to unlock today's picture is relative to Mercuey, and the fact that Mercury doesn't rotate. One side is always burning in the face of the sun and the other "face" of mercury is in constant darkness. The message is still extremely cryptic though. There must be a hidden message somewhere I feel like

I was thinking something more in line with Earth being (or had been) terraformed but your theory makes sense since a tidally locked Earth would be gradually terraformed into a Hot/Cold Planet. I'm curious to find out what the method of space travel is in Destiny. The Aliens who have ravaged Earth seem to know how to travel through interstellar space, but the humans (seemingly) do not.
