Link straight to todays challenge: http://alphalupi.bungie.net/?day=2
If you're looking for a way to help - log into the above link and keep refreshing every 5 mins (that's how often the server checks). By being logged in during any 5 minute span you add a white dot to the right image - the more white dots the faster we solve this - but your white dot will only last for five minutes (that's why you need to keep refreshing).
You'll be able to see the fruits of your refreshes in realtime here (it gets re-uploaded every five minutes):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/9a9a1eec15fgwrf/finalMaskedOutput.png
Each 5 mins you log in puts a dot in a different location - if your white dot falls on a space we haven't filled in yet on the final image that information will automatically get added to the final Output at the above link. Where the location of your white dot will land is a combination of the time of day and your location on earth. So get others involved to get other locations and keep refreshing to update yours with time.

What I'm mostly afraid of right now is that I haven't seen the geomask move into the 12 o'clock position all day. I really hope there isn't any data stored up there.
-
if we can just get the digit between the 9 and the 4 we can hand do the rest... hopefully.
-
I'm actually hoping the rest don't exist - for sure the middle most one can't exist because the FFT has to be a mirrored image.
-
Unless it's an 8 or 0
-
Well... that would suck.
-
and as it appears to me /560882_ _ _ _B314 _ 985.jpg i know i doubt its a B but thats sure what it looks like to me
-
well it appears its not simply a circle after all

Here's what I have now 63148985680390882

Edited by freefall722: 2/14/2013 3:30:59 AMWell the "slash" is turning out to be more complex - interesting. More people!
-
I had a theory where the slash part is actually the part where you start the code first, it extended through the other side, rather than ending where the mirror meets.

Edited by freefall722: 2/14/2013 12:43:42 AMFunky symbol appears to be .jpg going off at a tangent over a / So my guess so far: /980882___8314_985.jpg
-
So I think the slashes are actually twos.

Just ran all possible inputs into the balnks in that .jpg - nothing alphalupi. bungie. net/_831439856_/450881.jpg

We've been bruting numbers all day. Can't seem to find a solid link...
-
Edited by freefall722: 2/14/2013 12:52:55 AM11 digits / 6 digits - they anticipated the brute approach and added a layer of complexity? EDIT: well I was right about the slash - but it marks the beginning not the middle.
-
If we brute the first 11, we can brute the other 6 a little easier. We'll get a 403 if we correctly brute the first 11
-
Edited by freefall722: 2/13/2013 9:49:59 PMLooks like we're lined up perfectly right now - this is the time to log in if you aren't

Bumped, because people should be advancing the ARG and not worrying about extraneous things, this is the only thing that will lead to our ultimate goal.
-
I follow the word of Hylebos!
-
I've been friggin explaining to everyone exactly what you're saying. Nobody seems to listen. That damn lettingo video is dropping our focus rate.

I feel your pain. It's so obviously unrelated >_>
