There have been many groups that have dropped in activity or have completly died off. What do you guys think Bungie needs to fix in order to make private groups come back to life and give them something the regular forums don't have?

Ask not what Bungie can do for your Private Group. Ask what your Private Group can do for the Bungie Community. Threads like this are a great start. I just became aware of the Shadow League for the first time.

Edited by Spawn: 2/15/2013 3:42:23 AM-Return of title/privilege system -News on front page for private groups -Activity queue -Ability to see the status of a group before you join (closed, open, approved etc) -Admin/Mods to ban from posts (without kicking them from the group) -Locking threads, yes, it should exist for private groups -Separate areas on the homepage for news/links/articles/FAQ/Contact Information -Mass Private messaging for admins (WOULD LOVE THIS) - Option to "opt out" as a member -Pinning threads system needs to be sorted out -Group cap shouldn't be at 10. 15 at the least Just spouting ideas. Many of these on the list were fundamental features from bungie.old. They were just stripped away from bungie.next. Groups needs some love.

Agreed.

I need to be more active within this group again...

Good riddance. Once private groups get big all the admins get a total stick up their ass and start abusing their powers with bans if you don't worship the founder. It's sad to see a good group go down that path.
What do you guys think Bungie needs to fix in order to make private groups come back to life and give them something the regular forums don't have?
Maybe some flair, ie changeable forum colors/text in private groups, access to old threads and stickied threads of the past easier, etc.

Most private groups were created to adjust some of the code of conduct to the founder's liking. For example, some groups were lax with political and religious discussion. Some were fine with cussing, some had stricter rules on cussing. The list goes on. Now that Bungie.net has talking about politics in mains, looser profanity filters, and no bans, there is no reason to seek a separate area of the site. Privacy does not exist because of the follow group addition.

Damage has been done, there's no going back to levels of activity pre bungie next until bungie releases a new game.
