Decomposing this into LAB and tweaking the L layer results in: http://imgur.com/RZZQgd1 I thought maybe the star field was Lupus, but it doesn't seem to match up. The triangles to the left are interesting. The compass to the top-right looks like it's sourced from the original Puerto Princesa map. There is some sort of cracking going on in the bottom right that doesn't look like typical nebula artifacts.
