Have you ever had a dream where you, in a way, knew you were only dreaming, but in the dream you noticed something that felt like it didn't belong there? You know, like it was something or someone else that was real, like you, and not part of the dream itself. From what I can remember, it has only happened to me twice, in two separate dreams.

Hypnogogic and hypnopompic dream states? I accidentally conditioned myself to immediately enter REM sleep due to years of insomnia. So I skip the pre-REM stages of sleep, and go right into dreaming. I actually start dreaming before I fall asleep. When in that state, I can tell I'm dreaming, and that I am not asleep, and it always feels wrong. When I do fall asleep, I can tell somehow, and I notice the transition. I am lucid during the hypnogogic state, bu tI loose insight and lucidity when I do fall asleep, and the dream no longer feels wrong. When I start to wake up, I am usually still dreaming, and that hypnopompic state also feels wrong. A few days ago, while hypnogogic I noticed that Thor was trying to kill me. It was weird and felt wrong, because I was lucid. I eventually fell all the way asleep and lost lucidity, and suddenly I was really angry that Thor was attacking me unprovoked. His hammer was huge, like the size of a VW Bug and he kept throwing it at me. I easily dodged it every time, and used some trigonometry to bank my own magical hammer (which I had for some reason) off some walls and into his stupid face. I wanted to find his giant hammer, so I could smash his corpse to a fine red mist, but I could not find it. The phase changed at that point, and I don't remember the rest til I woke up. I woke up still angry, and looked around my bed for a giant magical hammer.
