A few years back my xbox broke and instead of buying another I decided to build a gaming PC. I am still thoroughly enjoying my experience, but there has always been something missing and that was Halo. So when Bungie announced their departure from Microsoft I was really excited since Bungie would no longer be forced to make games exclusively for xbox. I'm really hoping Destiny will be available on Steam (I am not so fond of Origin), but what do you guys think?

While the Second destiny game was listed as launching on PC, xbox "720", and PS"4" (games 3 and 4 do not specify platforms); the only platform contractually guaranteed for an initial release is the Xbox 360 with a PS3 release the following year. But! Between now and then the contract may change, PC may become a viable platform for a port before late. who truly knows? bungie knows.

Destiny on PeeCee?

From the contract, it's unclear whether Destiny will be on PC or not. Here is how I interpret the contract that was made in 2010. Destiny #1 will come out for Xbox 360 as a timed exclusive. It will later come out on the PS3 if Bungie has the capabilities of doing so. A huge expansion will come a year later. There MAY be possibly ports for the next generation of consoles for Destiny #1. Destiny #2 will be available for most platforms. This being either just the new generation and PC, or the old generation, the new and PC. So, the first game may never come out for PC. But the second and so on should. At least that's how I understand the contract. However, things could have changed from when it was written in 2010.

I will not be buying it for 360... i used to love consoles but they have gone downhill, so i be waiting for the PC version delayed or not Even though it may or may not be old info. but when activision had to release to files to court during that lawsuit with the people who made COD. it stated that destiny will come to xbox 360 first then released on ps3/pc. The reason this may be true is bungie has been staffed with only devs who only worked 360 so they had take learning curve/hire devs who knew how to dev for ps3. Remind you that stuff got released in court about 2 years

If it's for the 360 I will rent it. If it's for the PC I will buy it. If its for next gen xbox I wont even care about it.

Edited by ZER0: 2/8/2013 2:42:15 AMThere is a very good chance it will be on PC. This time around Bungie cats want to reach out to as many potential fans/consumer as possible. Further, there was a leaked image form a private Activision conference that showed (at that time in development) Destiny was planned for 360/PS3/PC. I am personally a PC guy but like to have a console sticking around. Next gen I'm leaning towards the PlayStation because I believe as a company Microsoft is completely garbage. This gen I have been an Xbox guy, and though the online infrastructure was in general better than Sony's, there was no value to the 60 dollars you pay every year for a membership; M$ are equivalent to thieves and they do not care about their consumer like Sony does.

Edited by Malckeor: 2/8/2013 1:32:07 AMI hope so. Consoles have pretty much died to me since I built this gaming rig; I only went back recently for Halo 4, and the only reason I'm still playing Halo is because of the story and epic universe. Screw the multiplayer. I just want to see John's and the remaining characters' stories all the way through to when we say farewell at the conclusion of Halo 6. Here's hoping 343i don't pull a Bioware. Anyway, I wouldn't want Destiny to exclusively have all of the console drawbacks to hamper my enjoyment of the game. I either want an awesome port, or if all else fails, a bunch of user-made mods to make the game the best thing ever.

Well Origin is EA and they and Activision aren't exactly buddy-buddy. So no fear of that. If that old leaked contract still holds true it's planned to eventually get there but not have the first title be for PC on initial release.
-
There's really no reason for them to not put in on PC, it'd be a stupid idea not to. You don't just alienate an entire fanbase.
-
From what I've read (all speculation obviously) it will be released on 360 this year and may not release for PC or PS3 until the following year at some point.

I think it would be really cool if it was on the PC, but we don't know yet, maybe soon. It would defiantly open up a bigger fan base for the game though.
