This is one step forward. Now it's just Scotland left.
The Commons voted in favour of the The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, by 400 to 175, a majority of 225, at the end of a full day's debate on the bill.
Prime Minister David Cameron has described the move as "an important step forward" that strengthens society.
For once, something right has happened.
EDIT: It needs to go through the House of Lords now..

the argument of gay marriage is mostly pretty stupid. i think gays should be allowed to get "married" but at the same time don't. it's more a problem of definition. Marriage came from the church, not government. marriage is the union between a man and a woman. It is literally the dictionary definition. that's what it has been and that's what it's supposed to be. The only thing gays can or really should be arguing for is similar rights when they enter a union. it's stupid just to say OMG IT'S UNFAIR or complain the church doesn't accept you. it's against their religious beliefs to support you. you are essentially telling them you should not believe this or argue that their views are retarded but it's not you're right to impose your moral code on others.
