You're also ignoring the fact that EA also tried to purchase Valve, in which Valve responded with something along the lines of "We'd rather die than sell our company". Nor did Microsoft announce any plans like this.

1 ReplyHalo isn't coming to Steam. How you got from a little rumor to "OMG MICROSOFT ARE BUYING STEAM" is quite amazing. Why on earth would Valve ever sell Steam? And to Microsoft of all companies???
