What game do you think has the best multiplayer map design? And why? Be it an FPS, Third-Person Shooter, etc.
Halo 3 really nailed it for me. The maps went so well with the gameplay, which is obviously what you want. I loved maps with tight corridors or corners. I enjoy jumping around a corner and taking down an enemy or getting a nice bouncing grenade around a corner. I'm not one for larger maps, but Valhalla was most certainly a standout. I'm sure not just for me.
I also love FIFA's maps.

Starcraft 2 has awesome aesthetics and are play-tested to the max. Personally, I can't resist tropical settings, so Red Alert 2, Starcraft 2 and H3: ODST (if you're counting non-competitive multiplayer - i.e. firefight). And all Halo games have maps that i absolutely love (e.g. for sci-fi setting and story, memories, things made in Forge, etc.). Build more tropical levels in games!!! (though i'm pretty much only interested in them if they have sci-fi or fantasy stuff)

Edited by A 3 Legged Goat: 2/3/2013 1:19:38 PMI love the maps in Smash Bros. I was so mad they didn't bring back stuff like PokeFloats or the Ice Climbers level. Also, original Hyrule Master Race. Dem Tornadoes Mayne. TORNADOES

Metroid Prime Hunters. Seriously, the maps on there are amazingly good.

Snowbound, Epitaph, Isolation. Huh. Not that Halo 3 didn't have good maps (obviously), but those maps were... eh. Shootmania probably. Or Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne.
