Personally, I do believe in the existence of the spirit. As a student of Psychology, I am a firm believer of the existence of spirit. The majority of psychologists believe in the soul in one form or another. (Such as Abraham Maslow, and many others)
So, what are your views?

It's nonsense. The neurological/biological mechanisms in my body are sufficient to produce what humans classify as "consciousness," there's no need for the addition of some trans-dimensional life force that uses our body as a husk.
