If you want our children to be well-rounded and well-educated, we must teach our children every theory of creation there is, and that includes the ancient alien theory.
All in favor?
-
They should really teach that ancient aliens were the result of divine creation and the ancient aliens greatest technological achievement was evolution.
-
Well I see no problem introducing it and putting that idea out there for kids..... but there's not enough overwhelming evidence to prove it while evolution does. I'm just stating the facts, not trying to be controversial, but how would you teach this course without just turning it into mad speculation??
-
I don't see why not. Teach the controversy.
-
I personally think teachers should bring up the brain-in-a-vat thought experiment after telling the students anything, including their names. I mean, you called him John, but is he really called John? Does he even exist? Sure, there's evidence, but at the end of the day, John is only a theory. Some people accuse me of time-wasting, but I think it's important we teach the controversy.

I'd love to play Halo and watch some crazy dude on History Channel for a day. Fu
-
What exactly is ancient alien theory?
-
FOR THE LAST TIME: ONLY EVOLUTION HAS EVIDENCE SUPPORTING IT AND THUS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT SHOULD BE TAUGHT BECAUSE THE OTHER TWO ARE NOT SCIENCE, THEY ARE MYTHS /thread

Edited by History HD: 2/2/2013 12:24:29 PMAncient Aliens did leave clues behind that exist in plain sight such as sophisticated aircraft, complex electrical grids, and intricate construction machinery. Indian Sanskrit texts, dating back to 6000 B.C., describe in varying but vivid detail flying machines called Vimanas. Megalithic stone structures in Egypt reveal evidence of precision saw work. Interpretations of the Jewish Zohar writings offer depictions of a life-sustaining manna machine, eerily similar to chlorella algae processing systems today. Are these examples of modern technology, or is there evidence that these incredible mechanisms existed on Earth thousands of years ago? CAN IT BE MORE CLEAR? Should we still call this a theory? Or is it a fact? The answer is a resounding...YES. (and if so, might there be a more sinister alien agenda behind the phenomena?)
-
Evolution or bust.
-
Gravity is just a theory! Levitation is just as valid! Teach the controversy!
-
You're a bit late to the party buddy
-
so long as none of it except evolution is taught in the science class fine.
-
I don't want either creationism or evolution taught. I don't want my future kids having to hear about Darwin and finches.
-
-
Stick to teaching the basics.
-
There is NO proof of space aliens.
-
We discussed all three of those in my school.
-
-
f 'm up good. I agree.
-
I know you're trolling, but I hope you die.

WEAPONS TO FIGHT THE GOA'ULD

Uh...public schools teach creationism? Mine didn't. We learned about Evolution...and the three basic theories of life: Reducing Atmosphere Extraterrestrial Deep Sea Vents
-
Evolution: Scientific Theory with enormous amounts of evidence in favor of it Creationism: Conjecture brought about by strict adherence to religious scripture Ancient Aliens: People like to think bigger than logic wants them to
-
What about the theory that the earth was created in much shorter time than the big bang and that dinosaurs are hundreds not millions of years old.
-
OK, sure.
-
In which class do you propose we teach it in?
