Which one(s) are you planning or considering to purchase based on the current information about these items?
Also, on a related note, would you consider people who buy all three waisting their money due to the amount of cross-platform games?

Just call it the gen 8 Xbox or the next Xbox. 720 is an insipid name. I reckon it'll be called Infinity or Prime or Nexus. OT: if MS can't show off any decent exclusives and Sony can, which is pretty much how E3's been looking for the last 2 or 3 years, it'll be a PS4 for me. Hopefully, it's backwards compatible, because there's a ton of PS3 games I'd love to buy. Then again, if Valve announces Half-Life 3 as a Steambox exclusive...

PC and probably PS4 over 720. The biggest reason? Xbox Live is nearly stagnant in relevant content improvements while everyone else is moving forward. The most obvious being accessibility of online play. Literally everyone is providing it for free (PSN, Wii, PC) so I find it a bit silly that Microsoft is still trying to leverage that as a selling point. For XBL's most direct competitors, PC and PSN (I exclude Wii U since that's for the most part, a different market) I can name at least one great thing about each one's online. Playstation Plus literally gives out games for free*, and Steam's game discounts are both incredibly numerous and high. Meanwhile the new "premium" features on Xbox Live are all things that are already free (Twitter,Facebook, Last.FM, Internet Browsing) and more convenient on other platforms. Microsoft has this odd fixation with bloating Xbox Live with irrelevant content rather than trying to genuinely outdo their competitors. Is Xbox Live horrible? No, but it's not great and that's just the problem. There's absolutely nothing remarkable about it at all. Most people I know who are still on Xbox Live are only still there because they're too invested by now to back out. That's really about it though. After all, what's the most unique thing about Xbox Live compared to other online gaming services? The mandatory monthly fee just to play.

I might get a 720 if things are looking good, Halo is the main reason for me staying but it doesn't seem to be improving drastically. If 720 doesn't impress me, I'll probably continue on building my dream PC and moving to that instead. Battlefield and DayZ here I come!
-
Probably a 720- although it Microsoft pulls some more retarded moves, I'll probably get the PS4 instead. It just all depends. Sony seems to be getting a lot better exclusives than microsoft right now.
-
I think the Wii U isn't even in this conversation. It's a whole different machine. As for my choice between the two FPS machines I'm leaning towards a PS4, but much like the 360 + Halo, I'll go where Bungie goes to first. (probably the new Microsoft product)
-
I'll be grabbing the Ps4 and WiiU. I have zero intentions of getting the next xbox unless it's very cheap and used.
-
Edited by halo: 2/5/2013 8:35:14 PMAll of them eventually. But I'll buy Xbox 720 first just because I like xbox. Also I hope to build a PC eventually because PC has got some good games.
-
Already own a WiiU. I'll pick up the 720 when it comes out as well.
-
PC, WiiU, and Maybe a 720. Halo is starting to suck and that was the main drawing point of it. PC is amazing for cross platform, and Steam is great. WiiU has amazing first-party.
-
Halo was the only exclusive I was keeping an xbox for and it doesn't look like we're going to get any more good halo games. So I'm going to be sticking to PC from now on. Path of Exile and League of Legends atm.
-
I'll be picking up a 720 for sure. I may get a PS4 as well, but it depends on the price tag and my budget. I really don't want to get a WiiU, but Pikmin 3 and Super Smash Bros are calling for me...
-
At the moment, the only one I'm considering is the Wii U, and I'm only considering it because of Retro Studios' unannounced title. I may or may not get the next Xbox for Halo 5 though.
-
Xbox. All my friends are on there, plus Halo. I've grown out of Nintendo a long time ago and PS has never interested me. If the Steambox ever comes to fruition, I'll consider getting that too.
-
Obviously the 720. Who even plays Wii anymore. Its for 6 year old kids who want to play tennis without going outside.
-
720 and PS4. Why not?
-
-
WiiU.
-
What information is there on the new Playstation and Xbox besides rumored specs? It's impossible to say. I already have a Wii U and I'd like to own all the consoles again. I don't like missing out on exclusives for no reason.
-
None. I'll stick to PC, if I'll even play video games in the next couple of years...

Edited by JackTheCreeper: 2/1/2013 12:53:31 PMI may go with the Xbox 720, but I definitely won't be buying it within its initial launch period. I doubt I'll get the PlayStation 4, but it's still a possibility. The only thing I know for a fact is that I will not be getting a Wii U, that thing is a joke.
-
Lol Wii U.
-
I'm getting the PS4. PSN being free and PS+ is a big turn on for me and I've gotten into JRPG's. The PS3 has more of them so the PS4 might as well. There's really nothing that makes me want to get the next Xbox. I like Gears of War, but Judgment might turn the series over in a new direction. I read about the changes they made and I don't care for them. I lost all interest in Halo. I'm still playing Halo 4, but if it's the same repetitive thing I'm not going to buy any new games. The only thing that would make me buy a new Halo game is if it's a Halo version of Battlefield or Battlefront 2.

Waiting until we get some more information.

There's no official information out there yet, but i'll probably end up buying a playstation. I've loved the brand since i got the original console and i like their way of thinking (unlike Microsoft).
