The reason this will never happen is because Liberals see Conservatives as bigoted "me first" policy-makers, while Conservatives see Liberals as people trying to destroy the foundation of their own personal moral code that they grew up with. as opposed to what it actually is, which is two parties trying to make sure the other one cannot accomplish anything while in power.
