The president is not a king. Stop saying things like "Obama is going to do ______"
He can't do much more than suggest legislation and enforce the laws on the books. Stop acting like he's a monarch that has the power to do anything beyond his job, as laid out in the Constitution.

I love how this happens every election year. There's always going to be butthurt from either the Liberals or the Conservatives. It's a cycle that never stops, and we as a people have a bad habit of throwing blame at the most recognizable scapegoat, in this case Obama. There are so many factors that play into the problems we have today, that to blame it all on one man who has only been in office for 4 years, is ludicrous and retarded.
-
Example: nearly none of Bush's EO's have stayed in effect. While the economy fell to pieces under his watch, nearly nothing Bush did was permanent. Obama's term will end and things will change. Neither was a king capable of forever ruining the USA.
-
Why would liberals have said that? If anything conservatives probably would.

The powers of the president are extensive. Executive actions are effective changes of the law without Congressional approval. He has direct control of our armed forces, can grant amnesty, commutations, reprieves, and even pardons. He can establish informal treaties with foreign leaders (executive agreements) without Congressional approval; he can choose not to disclose information deemed to be a matter of national security (executive privilege). He appoints any vacancies in the Supreme Court; appoints the head of the major departments of the United States which are responsible for a huge portion of the American bureaucracy. Perhaps most obvious of all, he is able to veto laws that have been passed by Congress and, in today's divided Congress, effectively kill them. Obama is no monarch, but he is the president, and that office has tremendous power that he can utilize to achieve his policy goals without shredding the constitution.

I do not think Obama has gotten anything meaningful passed as president because it is always vetoed by Congress.
-
He views himself and acts like a king. He has often shown a great disregard for the Constitution he not only swore to uphold, but used to teach people about.
-
The man has considerable control over all things executive, and that encompasses foreign policy, pursuing of federal lawsuits, agency directives among other things. So saying "Obama is going to do _____" isn't inaccurate, it's just helpful to know the balances and limitations of powers.
-
He is already doing things that are against the constitution.
-
Thank. You. This is what I've been going on for a while. Congress is the one who makes laws, passes laws, does the same with the budget and appropriations. If you a problem with how much we're spending, go after them.
-
Make sure to correct the Conservatives too. Too many think the same thing. But instead of keeping campaign promises, he's going to revoke the Constitution.
-
Obama isn't a bad president. A lot of his laws make sense if you look at it with an open mind and compare it with other successful countries in the world. However, Congress is the main reason nothing is happening. Obama gets all the flak for Congress's stupidity.
-
Congress is the legislative body, the President is the executive body.

-
Dem executive orders brah. But seriously, I agree. Obama has been a bad President, but Congress is more to blame than anything. Like Obama is stupid for supporting Obamacare, but Nancy Pelosi is more stupid for saying "Pass it and we'll read it after".
-
We should change the phrase "Obama is going to..." to "Congress is going to..." Believe it or not, Congress is much worse than Obama is.
-
Conservatives say the same. Hell, they'll even directly call him "King Obama" among other ridiculous terms. Read some right-wing news-type sites, if you don't already.
