When you edit a post, special characters are replaced with HTML entities. These are not re-parsed when you save the edit.
So for example, say I post this:
"I am a test. 'A test,' I say!"
When I go to edit it, I will see the following in the textbox:
"I am a test. 'A test,' I say!"
And the post will display like that when I save it. If I then go to edit it again, the problem stacks:
"I am a test. 'A test,' I say!"
Edited by ZealotSG: 2/1/2013 9:17:45 AMIt's very annoying. Only way to avoid it is to click the topic title (reloading brings you back to the page before you made any changes).

Was just about to make a thread on this. I was wondering why I started seeing this so often
-
Yes I have been having problems with this as well. Thanks for making this thread. I believe it appears for words that are "quoted" and using apostrophes; You're, they're etc. There are probably other symbols as well.

Just encountered this bug when i edited a thread in my private group. Bump for great justice. Ŝ was what all my apostrophes became.

...I was just drafting up a thread in a private group only to have my post explode into Nonsense. Bumping this bug up, looking forward to seeing it fixed >_>

Edited by Malfar: 2/1/2013 10:33:08 PMNice one. Might be worth a note that the tags related to a post also disappear after an edit is saved.
