So, Crysis 3 releases on the 19th of February for North Americans and today marks the release of their BETA for the game. It has two game modes, Crashsite which resembles a King of the Hill gametype, and Hunter which is essentially Flood/Infection.
Free to download and check out, so I suggest people give it a whirl. Some of their additions are pretty interesting and could make interesting additions to other games. I love the map specific kill streaks reliant on a kill-confirmed method of picking up dog tags (which isn't new to the franchise but will be to new players) and their new personal killcams at the end of matches highlighting your own personal best kills.
Its not for everyone, but I enjoy the Crysis multiplayer suite. Its a refreshing, different gameplay experience than the other games currently rocking the multiplayer world. Plus, there are just some cool ideas present (hell yes to parkour and sliding in FPS games!) that would make excellent additions to other franchises or new IP's.

At the base level it's a very fast CoD, it doesn't do anything new but it does it all very well. It's the dumb twitch shooter that I'd be happy to play if that's what I was looking for. I expect it to die quickly on consoles because an average gamepad player won't be able to get anything out of it that CoD/Halo doesn't already give them. Plus it runs and looks like shit on Xbox. Highlight reels were the real feature that I took away from the beta. Holy shit every arena FPS game needs those.
