I have noticed alot of people saying that their groups are dead, I can't help but think the hashtag system affords us the oppurtunity to have a discussion that is open to everyone, but easily accessable to those that which to track the conversation. Thus, hashtags have replaced groups.
Thoughts?

Yeah, now people don't use their old groups to talk about certain subjects, because they can now just use the hashtags. #dicktits

Groups never die OP, they're just missing some love.

Not really. I kinda get where you're coming from, but a lot of groups are perfectly fine, and they have a lot of uses hashtags dont.

Edited by Hylebos: 1/30/2013 2:46:44 AMGroups aren't dead, they just need some attention from the web teams. Hash tags definitely aren't an acceptable replacement, they do not provide the privacy or the control that private groups provide.
