At first I thought that Ninja Theory were going in the wrong direction with a reboot (new story, new character looks) but after playing and completing the game I found that Ninja Theory have a good thing going on.
The music though has to be the best I have heard in a game OST. It definitely suits the hack-and-slash genre especially when it comes to Devil May Cry.
What are your thoughts on the game if you have played it?

The weird-colour-contrast-limbo-thing-levels and the "music" completely turned me off. Don't get me started on the characters/story/presentation...

Edited by Darcsyde: 1/30/2013 1:11:41 AMI've played the demo and a couple levels at a friend's house. Quite frankly, It's pretty awful. Combat is much simpler and doesn't allow for much of the fancy stuff you could do in DMC4 (which is the only I've played otherwise) and the enemies are pushovers. To top it off the style meter basically means nothing anymore, SSS is easy to achieve even on DMD, level design was neat at times though. Outside of pure gameplay, the music is heavily dubstep which I hate, and new Dante is quite frankly one of the worst written characters I've ever played as. Ninja Theory attempting to use Unreal Engine 3 instead of the old MT Framework was also one of the worst and stupidest decisions I've ever witnessed.

the game is a casual fest dubstep loving modern anarchy scrawny ass kid shit. besides the music the shitty real time rendering the locked at 30 fps the crap characters the combat is alright, could be a harder game, but looking past the bad shit, its an okay game. id give it a 7/10

Personally I feel the game is overrated. The game play is ok but I feel the character design is quite poor. The shading in the game is awful. The voice acting is lifeless. The story is tired. I just feel like a AAA game should be more. I've played a ton of games and this can't keep me interested at all. I feel like I have to grind the entire game.

i find it more fun than devil may cry 1 and 2 personally, i like how you can shift weapons easily and stuff, the style ranking needs work, it sucks that you can spam hacker and get an SSS but in all honesty i didn't think it was that hard to get an s rank in devil may cry 1, you just whack things constantly that's all that's to it, why don't they reward you for variety? devil may cry 3 is still vastly superior, yet to play dmc 4 though

I really enjoyed it. Best game in the genre since Bayonetta.
