A question on weight-lifting.

So, yeah. A question on weightlifting. To build muscle, you've got to lift heavy right? Small sets, big weights (correct me if I'm wrong). So how do you know if you're doing it right? Seriously. As you're not supposed to feel achy, because it weakens you for your next lift. You take and do small sets to try and remain fresh and ready for the next lift. By the way, this is information I've accumulated, its not mine. And I'm not a rookie, I can lift a decent weight. Just need to build a bit of mass and muscle.

  • If you want to beef up. Superset Arnies with bench press. Arnies > 3 sets of 10 as a start. Bench

  • A good starting weight should be one that you can lift 2 to 3 sets of 10 without feeling like it was easy. Once you find this weight, start with a set of 10 the next time you work out, then on subsequent sets add some weight to each side. It's normal to feel a little achy or sore between sets, but if you feel like your muscles are about to give out then you've gone too far.
