Who here likes to play Dress up?
One of my favorite features in most games is player customization. I'm not so much talking about which weapon you use or what abilities you have, but the clothing you are wearing and the tightness of your jeans.
Custom Tailoring your character to your liking can literally take hours of your time. Whether it be earning specific items through the progression of the game, or changing the size and shape of a nose to fit perfectly between two custom created blue eyes you've chosen for your female player.
Are you hoping that Destiny will include something like this for your player?
What depths would you like the customization to reach? The baseline is normally choosing colors. COD (black ops) lets you create your own emblem with a multitude of shapes and objects. Skyrim, Mass Effect, and Fallout go through the motions of custom molding faces. Do you want ALL of these? Would you want these included in campaign AND multiplayer?
Or are you the type that really doesn't care?

I feel like bumping this. The new character development video have me the biggest smile. I cannot wait to play dressup.

It shouldn't feel like one of those face customizer things which let you control the width of your nose, those are too bloated and silly, but I enjoyed the level of customiation we had in Reach and I wouldn't mind seeing that evolve a few steps.

Edited by SkilPhil: 1/26/2013 2:45:59 PMI'm pretty sure there will be, there was a Demonware internal blog that leaked on to Google that said...
I'm not fully sold on the appeal of being able to change the colour of a weapon, but I guess it works in China, and customization and individual identity is a big theme for the game.
I like alot of customization, it allows you to get creative and see other peoples creations too, just mixes things up a bit so your not seeing the same characters over and over. Sometimes they go a bit OTT, like adjusting the angle of your lower eyelash or determining whether your belly button is an 'inee' or an 'outee'. To be honest though I like that, I can skip it if I want but it allows people with more time and patience to create something more unique.

What happened to the days where you played as some nameless, faceless goon? That was great.

an eyepatch would be cool

I love dress-up! My sister always steals the nice clothes first though. I would love for there to be more customization in Destiny, I love making the character feel like my own persona.

Always with the skinny jeans.

Too much customization kinda irks me. Certain ultra-customizable games annoyed the heck out of me the first few times I went through the whole create-a-character business, and it really squashed my urge to invite random friends to play random short co-op games here on LAN like I would in Borderlands or Halo. Yes, I know, you don't actually have to customize everything, but everybody does, and it's exhausting. By the time characters are ready to play, the spontaneity has curled up and died somewhere. Unsurprisingly, this is more of an issue in direct relation to how much alcohol is involved. Still, I prefer to suit up and rock-n-roll. Some customization is nice, if it actually has function, like better gear. If it's just plastic icing... meh. At least give me the option to have some quickset characters to choose from instead of having to "ok" every stinking option.

Depends whether it is first or third person. First person perspective, customization is basically irrelevant since you rarely see your character model. For third person, yeah it matters to me.
-
I'd like every option of detail I can have. I like being unique. We all do- no point in being hipster and denying it. If this is an MMO deal, then going as intricate as possible would be nice.
-
I love in-game customisation. I'm a total sucker for it. The more the better, although obviously not to the point where quantity outweighs quality. APB's customisation is just amazing.
-
As long as I can have this^ in game, I'll die happy.
-
I wish to play as a pretty girl who doesn't afraid of anything. I want ridiculous amounts of customization.

Screw MMOFPS, I want Barbie Fashionista Combat Evolved.
