In the past four years or so of titles, many of us rightly criticised them for merely being a more visible form of join date elitism. After all, even amongst Mythic members it's a well known fact that when it comes to blueperiority, '04 or bust. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.
In this brief interregnum, we should take the time to think about the very nature of elitism. Is it the watering down of standards of posting? The discouraging of intellectually stimulating discussion? Apathy towards the community in general?
Whatever the reason, you should remember that you have always been inferior, will always be inferior, and even when you are old enough to be considered "Mythic" by the lowly systems put in place by the web team, you will still be inferior. Some among you will one day rise to be considered worthy posters. Most of you will not.
Most of you did not even get this far. Shame on you.

Well... I've never even heard of you so HA! #TeamMythic'08

I for one have no problem with titles or elitism.
-
... and that's why i'm a Communist
-
So what does contribute to the title besides join date?
-
I have slugged more crap and done more stuff within and for this community than can ever be shown based on a string of numbers. I got into computers because of my work in halo pc trial modding and the time i spent designing custom maps in Custom edition. My join date has nothing to do with the amount of time and energy i have put into the community which is probably more than some of the lurking 04-06 joins have ever done. You enjoy your string of numbers I'll enjoy my memories.

We'll get titles back. But will it be the same, or will it be different? Who knows. Mythics were people I once looked up to. It gave me the sense of knowing who was likely to be a good content creator, or worthy of my time (reading their posts). After time being on here you become acclimated with who is who, who posts good quality posts, and who doesn't. It takes a while to make a name for yourself, but you don't have to be Mythic to do it.

It will be interesting to see how Mythics ('05 here) are translated into the new system. With such a tone-down on the bans, the traditional trust system would base nearly everything on age alone. It would be interesting if they tied it into the new follower/like system to make up for this.

Primum your elitism disgusts me. Grey bars are people too, you know.
lol, jk. Blue bar or poo bar.
Edited by echo630: 1/12/2013 12:38:56 PM*looks down at Primum* Whatcha doin' down there, buuuddy? yolo :) Honestly, the Bungie.net staff can kind of be dicks to regular members, so I think that the elitism amongst older members is (at least in part [at lest for me]) a reaction to that treatment.

When I had my Mythic, I meant something. I was a somebody. Now I'm just another name in the system.

Bluepiriority really is the greatest phrase in the history of mankind.

I read it twice, applauded, and shed a tear. My coworkers are looking at me funny. They don't get it. But I do.

Times like this, I really regret ditching the old account. I wanna be part of the cool kids club!

'04 or bust, but an equally known fact is '07 and greater means bow to your creators.
