This was suggested three years ago and I would like to suggest it again now. The many faces of the New Mombasa Superintendent are adorable and I would welcome them as a new way to accentuate our posts. Seeing how it is the beta, I thought this would be my last slim chance of putting the idea out there for a loooooong time.

Halocommunity.com uses them :D
-
How can you hate that face?
-
I'm all for it. I rarely use emoticons myself because most of them look ugly. But if we can use the superintendent as an emoticon then I'd probably start using them.
-
I'd tap that.
-
If they still have the rights I say yeah.
-
I like this idea.
-
It might be nice, but I doubt i'd be possible. The Superintendent disappeared from Bungie's trademarks page a few years ago, and a while later 343 used him on the Headlong remake, so it seems likely Bungie isn't allowed to use him anymore.

Something along the lines of it being a cold day in hell before there are emoticons on Bungie.net comes to mind. Strangely it's familiar to me as if from an old dream but I can't quite remember.
-
Sounds awesome. I remember Bungie copyrighting the superintendent separately, but I'm not sure what its current status is.
-
Can they use them? Wouldn't those have gone to Microsoft with the Halo IP?
-
Edited by Jem 7DZ: 1/11/2013 6:39:04 PMNah, I think its a bit tacky. :-)

I love the idea of Bungie somehow implementing themed emoticons that are relevant to their universe. However, since Halo is no longer their main focus, it may be cool to have some from the new univers instead.
-
Not sure if I agree with the ability to put emoticons in posts. All the spam and shit posting of emoticons would annoy the hell out of me.
-
This is the best idea I've heard all year! Would Bungie still have the copyright to the Superintendent though, given he is part of the Halo IP?
-
Hmm, would tap.

That's actually a pretty great idea...
