Kids who hate on B.next because it looks like a social media site
Do you think their hatred of social media stems from a lack of social skills and social life which would necessitate use of said social media?
In other words, do they hate Facebook because it's an reminder of how unpopular they are IRL? And because worse still, it exists on the Internet, a place that used to be the exclusive domain of nerds and social outcasts, and they feel their safe haven is being invaded?

I just don't think it's a very good format for a discussion board. Well intended but I really didn't see the need to change the old format this drastically. Tweaked a little with the basic format the same and it would have been perfect in my opinion. The site design is very nice, but I would have preferred the old forum layout to have been slightly modified rather than completely changed. Other than that I think it's fine.

1 ReplyThis thread is so lolworthy. Just because we want a forum separate from our social media we are social outcasts? Are you still in highschool? I personally don't have a problem with social media itself. I'm not into it (Deleted FB awhile ago, still have a twitter handle but use it infrequently) but to each his own. I don't look down on anyone for their use of it, although I will say if you obsess over it I may think less of you. That, however, has nothing to do with the problems that this site has. The old forum was great the way it was, and I found this totally unnecessary. That being said, if you enjoy it, have fun. I just don't care for it. Sorry OP, you sound like a jackass. I hope this was just an attempt at trolling.

I have terrible social skillz and my facebook has been untouched except for the occasional "Happy Thanksgiving" or "Thank you for my birthday gift uncle ????", But I do love how we're getting these cool tags and follows.

I actually do like Facebook and use it often, their type of layout works well for them. However I don't think it works well for a internet forum. That's just my two cents.

Silence, child! listen to the voice! I have a okay social life, but the reason I dislike the new layout is because it's like Twitter and Facebook had a baby, while I'm a fan(and a wide user of both sites)I dislike this layout, the hashtags aren't needed, and I can see the massive spam of #YOLO and #SWAG and such. But, I like the infinite scrolling. so that's something.

3 RepliesEdited by Lilith: 1/14/2013 3:12:15 PMShush child; Cons: -Posts don't have multiple pages, scrolling forever makes load times insane eventually. -Replies turn into threads inside of threads, which deviates from the discussion aspect. -Threads don't jump to top of page when they have the newest post. -Post ordering; bring it back to oldest on top, so I can read posts in the order they were made. -The reply threads just add a lot of needless clutter that could just be avoided by reverting back to the old quoting system, and then people won't have to read through threads within threads within threads. -I want my Mythic bar back. -Like button doesn't exactly function very well for anyone but the OP. -After two days, I've found the button to change the way posts are ordered. -Name changing; there were people I recognized by their chosen username, that I may not be able to find anymore.

0/10. Too obvious. OT: No, I like social media. I use it all the time. Most likely, my social life exceeds that of anyone ITT. But this format is HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRIIIIIIIIBBBBLLLLLEEEEE FOR AN INTERNET FORUM. And it's not like Facebook. It's like Twitter meets the IGN comments section.

Just seeing something that looks like a social networking site sends me into a blind rage. Which, should make me calm down due to induced blindness, but it does not. I just get angrier and angrier. OP hit the nail on the head.

The 487 friends on Facebook are not your friends, sorry to tell ya buddy. Facebook is just a place to bombard your "friends" with useless pictures nobody wants to see.

2 RepliesThe likes in my opinion feel like they're trying too hard too hard. It just reminds me of that Office(US) episode where Ryan was making the new Dunder Mifflin website this new form of social networking or something. It feels really childish too. Is it enough to make me leave? No, but that doesn't mean that it isn't annoying. I can stand the likes, and that bullshit, but I really hate the backwards reply.

What i find really funny is that the flood has always been opposed to facebook and twitter style hashtags(from my experience anyway), and now it appears that bungie.next has turned into a majority of the floods worst nightmare.

Well, forums are basically social networking sites anyway. Though there's usually a little less emphasis on "networking" on a forum. But they are still very similar.

Why not just >>ignore<< the likes and stuff and just use the forum like a forum? Ignore your messages, ignore anything that is too facebooky for your own tastes
