Probably depends on the genre, but are you able to study/work better with music? Does it just pass the time for you, or does it actually help improve your performance?

Without. I cannot focus with noise in my head.
-
I've encountered situations where music has both helped and distracted me. I'd lean towards the latter, probably.

Depends what type of music and what I am working on.

It depends what I'm working on. If it's English it will help me focus. Math... not so much.

With music. Last year while writing an essay I blasted out a good three pages in an hour or so while listening to some music. Got a 98 on that paper too, lol.

Without. If I listen to music while doing homework, then I pay too much attention to the music. When doing physical labor, however, having music is really nice to have.
-
Most of the time when I do homework metal/rock/punk music helps me focus. When I work out it seems that some rock and rap helps me out.

Yeah although I've actually found that doing work while listening to podcast is more effective, for me anyways.

Depends on the mood I'm in and what I'm working on.

I don't work well with vocals, that distracts me the most. Otherwise electro/dubstep/classical/whatever without Vocals and I'm good.
-
if it's an instrumental or music without English vocals then i can concentrate well with music so long as it isn't too energetic. mostly, i listen to music when i'm not wanting to concentrate though; when i'm doing something methodical and want to zone out whilst still getting something done; like building something on Minecraft.

Really depends on the work I'm doing. -
I definitely focus better with music on, it blocks everything else and helps me concentrate - things just get done a lot faster it seems.

With music most of the time.

Without. I need beautiful silence.
-
Without, music distracts me easily.
-
Without. As a romanticist, I like to keep music as something to listen to and experience on its own.

It depends on the music! :P

I usually do better with music, but it depends on the genre and what game i am playing.

Depends on what I'm doing. It doesn't help much when I'm doing homework (if I ever do homework, lol). Music helps when I'm writing.

I play video games better if I listen to music. Next time you play any game, play Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones. See if you play better.
-
With music.. which is kinda weird because I'm an auditory learner

spotify, phil collins

If it's something that actually demands concentration, then I can't listen to music and complete it.
