Why Didn't the Librarian Index the Forerunners?
I just don't understand why the Librarian indexed all other life but her own race. Is there a certain reason why she didn't? Can someone enlighten me?

Because the Forerunners didn't die. The Bornstellar-Didact led the survivors on their "final Great Journey" to find the Precursors.

Forerunners had failed to uphold the Mantle. They had also chosen the next caretakers: Humanity. In fact, it was the Forerunners who gave themselves the name Forerunner. They always considered that greater things would happen after them.

I'm sure we'll find out for sure in the final book of that trilogy coming out in a few months. My best guess is that she wanted the mantle to pass to humans so the forerunners had to make way for that.

Maybe she did, but they were meant to populate an entirely different galaxy in exile.
