I was totally on the "OMG BRING FORUMS BAK" boat for the past hour. But, if you play your tags right, it doesn't matter. You're essentially creating your own forums. No more, "I CAN HAZ MARATHON/ONI/BLALALALA FORUMZ?" Just make it. Your dreams have now come true.
So after an hour of fiddling, I'm really pretty okay with this. I mean, no blue bar, but we'll save that for another revolution.
Trust me. Take my hand. I can show you the world.

I shall rustle your jimmies.
-
Yep you've worked it out too. I just manage my followed tags on the left and they are now my links to those forums. No idea why people don't understand this concept, its not that hard.
-
Same. Kinda.

BURN THE WITCH!

Edited by Porsche 914: 1/13/2013 5:46:39 AMI got the add on that makes the site black, and honestly that made things a whole lot better. I don't care for the hashtags, followers, and like bullshit, but they're not enough to really bother me. What I don't like though is the backward comment and reply system. I would prefer the old reply system over this new shitty one. I also like that fact that I can say shit and bitch without the -blam!- filter.

The employees' faces when updating.

It happens every-time Bungie or any developer changes something. By the end of the week most of those who had complaints will get used to the new layout. Personally I enjoy it.

-
well, i hate it. the old forum layout lasted over 6 years, with minor changes here and there. this isn't bungie anymore

*Takes hand*.

this new forum layout is a cluster -blam!-. at least bring individual forums back and darken the background.
-
I already entered the magical world Bungie created for the moment, and is INCREDIBLE!
-
-.- You snowballed me back into a Youtube Disney song bing. I'm charging you for these wasted hours of life.
-
I still miss The Flood forum, but I think getting used to the hashtag system.
-
Thank you for being a voice of reason, as always. :) It does seem weird that connecting to Twitter is missing.
-
The shock and anger has worn off some, but still not completely sold on the New Hawtness personally. My Jimmies are still fairly rustled.

This has nothing to do with Foman ruling. <----a problem with giving us the ability to create hashtags that effectively are forums Also, why hashtags? There's literally no point to requiring us to put the # before our keyword. It's just a keyword. Twitter has to use the # symbol because it delineates a keyword in a post. There's a separate field for keywords, so the # is unnecessary. And it's probably a barrier for people who just don't like hashtags as a trend.
-
Nope, it's still horrible. Thole point of a forum is the organization of different discussions, grouped by genre (i.e. a thread). This completely removes that.

Edited by Puma Knight: 1/11/2013 7:23:32 PMThe thing is that hash tags can be easily abused. People can add as many hash tags to their thread as they want just so that it will get a lot of attention. For example, you have six hash tags applied to this thread. This is a mild example, too, since the only "official" ones you used are #feedback and #Flood. However, I have seen some labeled with #feedback, #Community, #Bungie and #Flood. Those threads span several of the old communities, some of which they do not belong in. There is nothing to stop these people from adding whatever hash tags they want and as many as they want to their threads either. And if the ninjas can warn/ban a person for misusing hash tags, which I assume will be the case, I can only see that as being harder for them to moderate than having set forums for conversations to take place in. I think having several set forums is the best option. However, I would think that implementing the hash tags into the old forum setup as sort of a subtopic search would be an interesting thing to try. I also wish to address something that ABotelho mentioned in this thread, as well. Having comments listed in the order of priority instead of chronological order makes no sense to me. This just breaks up any conversation that could be had since comments that aren't considered "high priority" will be pushed to the bottom of the thread. Yes, you can reply to specific comments now. However, that just makes the conversations more separate. Instead of everyone communicating with each other, you have some smaller conversations that don't tie in to each other. Also, you have to look for these conversations to find them. You won't be able to just stumble across them and watch how they play out as you scroll down the page.

I agree with Verachi. I'm really starting to like this now...I don't mind the white color scheme though.

Our jimmies are eternal. All this rustling is an illusion.

What about this new design screams "BUNGIE" to any of you? Nothing. I love Bungie, but I am also a constructive critic. Not that what I have to say is 100% right, but I don't think we're seeing Bungie's best work with this new design. It's garbage.
-
So good.
-
SEE, NOBODY BELIEVES ME AT FIRST AND THEN THEY'RE ALL LIKE "Hmm this is pretty cool :)" and I'm like SEE. It's good stuff :3

I like the new site. It is very modern and sharp. Way to keep it hawt, Bungie. I haven't been here for awhile, but this has me wanting more. I think it's a winner.
