Well? Do you think they are awesome? Will they be around in five, ten, twenty years? Do you think ithey will be as important a few years from now as it is today?

I think Apple is a horrible, innovation-strangling company. However, being that way keeps them on top, and they have a clear influence on the PC market, as seen by the explosion of the tablet industry following the iPad, and the high number of All-In-One computers that followed widespread success of the iMac. If they aren't around in ten years, I'll be surprised, but twenty is a toss-up. I, for one, hope that Google and Microsoft can get all their awesome prototype tech together and conquer Apple, but for now, it's a very stable company with a huge fanbase. Even though I despise the company, they do put out excellent hardware, and the innards of their macbooks and other devices are incredibly clean and well-designed. Other companies, particularly Dell, are starting to follow this design model, which is the first step towards Apple death, but for now, they're staying put.

I only like apples in pie, and only once in a great while. Cream pies are better. As for Apple brand products? I have never owned one, never plan to. That's what I think of Apple.

I love apples. Best fruit in the world.

I prefer pears... On a more serious note I don't see what all the obsession with apple is recently, it seems to be something you have to either hate or love. To me they're just another company and as long as they act like one I will treat them as such.

I own an iPod touch, but overall I think they offer generally inferior products at too high a price.

Fantastic company, but pretty lame products.

Edited by A Good Troll: 1/23/2013 5:47:21 PMHow coincidental that OP posts this on the day of Apple's holiday earnings release. Company as a whole is fine, but a lot of people critique it for: 1. No low-cost phone for emerging markets like China 2. No deal with China Mobile (China's largest telecommunications compnay) 3. No new innovative product line (Apple TV in the works maybe) 4. Worries about profit margin compression I'm anxious to see how Apple reports. Personally, I think the company got too much heat in the past two months and I loaded up on Apple shares before this earnings report comes out this evening.

They make the best products on the market and nobody can compete with them. I like them a lot.
-
While I'm not a big fan of their products or business model, they're certainly a successful and stable company.

Apple is a cool guy that doesn't afraid of anything.

Edited by FoMan123: 1/23/2013 5:56:53 PMA great company with great products. I like Apple, even though I do not use any of their stuff anymore. The iPad is still one of my favorite gadgets of all time. Even though I think this most recent generation of tablets has produced several superior tablets to the iPad, none of them ever would have been possible without iPad's influence. Much like the current gen of smartphones inspired by (some would say "stolen from") iPhone, I think :-) I think that once you realize that Apple's strategy has always been premium product design at premium prices, it's easy to understand why they do or do not do some things. They don't always have the meatiest, fastest, most powerful gadgets out there. But they work great, they're intuitive right from the start, and their customer service is superb. Personally, I don't think we're going to see it return to its status as a massive pop culture and technology design leader like it was under Steve Jobs, but his legacy gave the company plenty of momentum going forward, and Apple will continue to be a provider of great products and customer service.

Its hard to tell if their heyday is passed. As far as a company goes, they are as close to heroes as I have. They ran one of the most profitable companies during the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. They did it so well that they ended up having more money than the US government when all was said and done. You can talk all the smack you want, but they command respect for doing that.

Apple is just another company to me. They will definetly be here in the next 20 years.
