If you subscribe to the theory that there's no such thing as a "soul"/"consciousness", and everything is just a construct of the neurons in your brain, then everything is fate, as we're just experiencing the continued reactions from the big bang. There's definitely an illusion of free will though. Me, I ain't got no -blam!-in clue.

Your life is completely free will. But when an extremely rare and random occurrence happens, like say meeting your future wife, the chance of it happening was so small some people like to think it was "destiny" or "fate" that caused it.
