What are some of your favorite community maps that you've played either in customs or in matchmaking? It can be from any Halo where you can create maps (Halo Custom Edition, Halo 3, Reach, Halo 4)
I'm sure we all have played on frustrating community maps in the past, but among those there were always bound to be at least a few that exceeded expectations and stuck with us. I've played on some that I'd even have wanted to see as fully developed maps.

I do not remember the name of the map, but my favorite map was for Fat Kid on Foundry. It was a big house that had 2 floors and a roof. Each floor had 4 rooms that could be closed by hitting barrels. The second floor had a balcony where people could snipe. I wish I remembered the map. I played on that map so much back in the day.

Too many to say, so I'll just say the last one I played on that was a favorite. Halo: Reach, this crazy track that goes completely around Forgeworld with a zombie firing rockets and sniper bullets at you. Once you reach the end, their's a sniper and banshee you can use to take out the zombie, who is on a platform in the middle. Played it with a few of the other new Community Carnage Organizers last week. Fun stuff.

I can't remember the name, but I played it in one of the RP custom lobbies back in Reach's first year (summer 11). I can't remember who made it either, although it had the feel of one of Der Flatulator's maps. Basically it was 2 large, open, vertical rooms at either end to serve as bases (IIRC you could drop right onto the flag/goal from above), and a middle room that was laid out differently but had the same general characteristics. Kills me that I couldn't remember anything useful about it, would've loved to play it again.

I'm not really fond on playing popular community maps, mainly because of how simple they are. I'm more of an Aesthetics guy as well as a competitive player, so playing on Jump Rope or anything like that wont amaze me but they're still fun to play. As for my favorite, I don't really have one but I take great pride in my recreation of a part in the Campaign from Halo 3. It's what really peaked my interest in Aesthetics and having it be from me it gives me a challenge to outdo myself.

The few that I've made were fun the few times that I had an opportunity to play them.

Edited by IRON RUMBLER: 1/22/2013 1:54:06 AMPlayed on 3 maps so far. Simplex and Scythe Enjoyed these maps and the sizes where OK. Garrotte Being color blind this map was way to bright and difficult for me to see anything.

Edited by djtanng: 1/22/2013 1:21:22 AMWould it be selfish to say.. uh... my maps? lol.. Really though, I like remakes, anything competitive, anything that's casual in that good kind of way (Halo Ball, Grifball), and Forge Art. My favorite map that's not my own would have to be Utah Mambo from Halo 3, because of all the fond memories. There were also some really great maps from Reach that I can't remember the names of off the top of my head, that would have been great in MM, that came out of some really talented Forge communities. I still enjoyed the ones in MM though, despite all the hate that forge maps got in Reach.

Always loved that massive snow map on Custom Edition, the one where you've got jets and all that jazz. Custom Edition was awesome, I'll have to get it again sometime.

Edited by kgj: 1/22/2013 1:30:07 AMWay too many Custom Edition maps to list. Lumoria series Takedown series Z Team's Halo 2 Conversions CMT's SPV2/3 series CMT's Snow Grove Gamma927's Firefight Maps (Portent among them) Chronopolis Sciophobia ... Argh, I can't list them all over the years. These are just the ones I immediately remembered.

Edited by Boomdeyadah: 1/21/2013 7:51:04 PMOff the top of my head, I'd say Workplace Bravo. I didn't mind playing on that map, and that says a lot since I hate forged maps or atleast the MM ones.
