Windows 8, applications wont close. HELP!
Today, after switching on my laptop, I opened Microsoft Word and I couldnt close it, it just seems to be frozen, I could minimise it, so then I opened a bunch of other applications and I cant seem to close those either... Anyone know how I can close them? Task manager wont open, MSCONFIG doesnt seem to be of help either... Help me dear hashtagofftopicans, please!

Are these Metro apps (the fullscreen apps) or desktop apps (classic Windows-style)? Obviously I know Word is a desktop app. What about the others? Have you tried opening and closing Metro apps? Also, what are you doing to try to close them? In the end, you can try doing a hard reset of your PC (hold down the power button until it turns off or restarts).
