What do you guys think of the nominations?

AC3 I can see. Haven't delved into the SP yet but the game apparently has a multitude of layers of plot going on simultaneously. AC Liberation? 007 Legends? Uncharted: Golden Abyss? Mickey 2? These games were panned or outright mocked. Only Golden Abyss was any good, but action movie scripts don't belong. That any of the others might have better writing over games like Spec Ops: The Line? Seriously? I would like to nominate Journey to this regard as well.

None of those games had any good writing, I think The Walking Dead should win an award for writing, it was very compelling and made you feel an emotional connection to the characters, deeper than I have cared about than most other characters in books, movies, and video games.

That these guys are clowns and I shouldn't take anything from the Writers Guild of America seriously.
-
No Walking dead, no Spec ops... Do these people actually play games? Golden abyss? Seriously? That's like nominating a cheesy action movie for best picture!

These selections are baffling...

The main quality I'd give Halo 4 is it's story. Even with it's problems, it's the first Halo game that actually took the EU seriously, and it has a plot that isn't watered down for the first time since Halo 2. It holds significance, and the Campaign itself has some fantastic dialogue. It has good character design (barring Palmer), and goes over the advanced concept of the Forerunners quite nicely. To each their own, 343i has my respect in this area.

WGA, y u no Spec Ops: The Line? I'd suggest Dishonoured except the main plot was crap; only the backstory and all the narrative titbits littered through the levels were great. I did like Halo 4's story, however. Not all of it, but a lot of it was great.

I am surprised Spec Ops: The Line is not on there. I have not played quite a few games on there, but I would easilly put Spec Ops above Halo 4. It had everything you could possibly want in a story: well developed character arcs, a concrete plot, an interesting villian, a unique setting, and a bit of 4th-wall breaking action.

Halo 4? wut?
